A fantastic recycling initiative for Singleton residents who have unwanted mattresses

🛏️♻️ MATTRESS MUSTER – FREE MATTRESS RECYCLING ♻️🛏️

Got old mattresses taking up space? Bring them to the Mattress Muster and recycle them the right way!

🕘 Saturday 16 May
⏰ 9am – 1pm
📍 Singleton Waste Management Facility

✅ What to bring:

• Up to 4 mattresses per household
• Accepted types:
➡️ Cot mattresses
➡️ Innerspring mattresses
➡️ Foam and latex mattresses
➡️ Ensemble bases (note: each ensemble base counts as 2 items)
• Proof of address within the Singleton LGA required

👟 Important:
• Enclosed shoes must be worn when visiting the facility
• 75% of mattress components are recycled into new products, reducing landfill waste and supporting sustainability efforts

♻️ Let's keep our community clean and green! Recycle your old mattresses and help divert waste from landfill.

NSW Washing Machine Exchange Program

If you’re a NSW concession card holder, you may be eligible to upgrade your old top‑loading washing machine to a new, water‑ and energy‑efficient front loader for just $250.

What’s included?
✔️ Delivery of your new machine
✔️ Professional installation
✔️ Removal and recycling of your old machine
✔️ Two‑year warranty

This program was very popular last year, so if you’re eligible, make sure you apply early.

Subsidising eligible low-income households to upgrade their inefficient top-loading washing machine to a water and energy efficient front-loading model.

🏘️ UNLOCKING FAITH-OWNED SITES FOR POTENTIAL HOUSING 🏘️

A change in NSW planning laws would unlock hundreds of underutilised faith-owned sites that could be used for much-needed housing. This practical idea proposed by Faith Housing Australia is gaining widespread media coverage, and while the focus is largely on sites across Sydney, there is certainly opportunity in regional NSW as well.
