It is with a heavy heart and deep sense of loss to advise for anyone who hasn't heard yet that Colleen passed away on Friday 29th of May from Ovarian Cancer (although it is likely that pneumonia finished her struggle).

Colleen was an early life member and long time supporter of the Club and was known to many as one of the sweetest, kindest people one could ever meet, always with a first thought for others over herself. This was obvious in that almost no-one knew of her struggle until towards the end.

As a whistle playing muso (apparently a favourite tune of hers was Eagles Nest' ?), she has gone to take part in the sessions (in heaven?) with the many that have gone before, where she will undoubtedly be welcomed with open arms.

Our thoughts go out to her family and friends and to Robert, her long standing partner, in this time of sorrow. However we should also remember to celebrate having had the opportunity to share time with her in our lives.

Rest in peace Colleen. We will miss you.

After many attempts I finally got Newcastle Hunter Valley Folk Club registered with Visit Newcastle on the Australian Tourism website.
