Working with trauma can be a profound catalyst for growth, impact, and healing, yet it also demands attention to our own well-being. As we support individuals, families, and communities, the narratives, responsibilities, and relationships we hold shape us into agents of resilience and positive transformation.

🖤💛❤️National Sorry Day 2026🖤💛❤️

Today, Awabakal stands in reflection as we honour and remember the Stolen Generations - their strength, their stories, and the ongoing impact on families and communities.

We acknowledge the pain caused by the forced removal of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children from their families, culture and Country. We recognise that this hurt is not just history - it continues to be felt today.

Sorry Day is a time to listen, learn, and walk together in truth. It’s about showing respect, deepening understanding, and committing to real change.

As a community, we move forward together in healing and reconciliation, holding space for every story and every voice.

☀️Melanoma Awareness Month ☀️

Early detection saves lives and looking after our skin is one of the most important things we can do for ourselves and our community.

Melanoma is one of the most common cancers in Australia, but the good news is it can often be treated successfully when found early.

🔍 Spot the difference. Save your skin.
Take a few minutes each month to check your skin and notice any new or changing spots.

🧴 Protect yourself from UV exposure:
✔️ Slip on protective clothing
✔️ Slop on sunscreen
✔️ Slap on a hat
✔️ Seek shade
✔️ Slide on sunglasses

👣 A quick skin check could save your life.

Awabakal encourage our community to stay sun safe, look out for one another, and yarn with a health professional if something doesn’t feel right.
