This Pride Month, we’re reminded that everyone’s life looks different, and that shapes what care should feel like.

For some, it’s about feeling safe and understood.
For others, it’s having support that respects the people and relationships around them.
Sometimes, it’s simply not having to explain who you are.

At Forward, we listen first. We take the time to understand what matters to you, so care can be shaped around your life, not the other way around.

Because care isn’t just about support.
It’s about how you feel receiving it.

Every day matters.

MS is not static. Support shouldn’t be either. 💛

On World MS Day, we want to shine a light on how multiple sclerosis can change over time. It's important that the support people receive adapts with it.

At Forward Ability Support, we work closely with people living with SCI and neurological disabilities like MS, cerebral palsy, and spina bifida. While each journey is different, there are often shared needs when it comes to mobility, continence care, daily living support, and independence.

We showed up for something bigger. Together. 💛

This year, our team took part in the Wings for Life World Run joining thousands around the world running, rolling or walking for a cause that sits at the heart of everything we do.

Team members, friends, families and partners came together at Randwick Racecourse, to support research into spinal cord injury and move closer to a cure. Joining our team was Sam Bloom, partner of our Live Well Together Program and Wings for Life global ambassador, along with her husband Cameron Bloom.

There was something powerful about being there together, it wasn’t about ability, it was about showing up for a cause.
100% of entry fees from this global event go towards research, helping drive progress and possibility for people living with spinal cord injury.

Proud to be part of this global movement!

Caring for someone with a malignant wound involves so much more than wound management alone.

It’s also about supporting comfort, preserving dignity, navigating pain, odour, and complex care needs, while also recognising the emotional impact this can have on both the person and those around them.

Forward Ability Support and BrightSky Australia are proud to support an upcoming webinar hosted by Wounds Australia exploring compassionate, evidence-based care for people living with malignant and fungating wounds.

International guest speaker Wayne Naylor will share practical clinical guidance alongside real-world insights from palliative and wound care practice.

📅 Wednesday 27 May
🕡 6:30–8:00pm AEST

For clinicians and healthcare professionals supporting people through complex wound care, this is an important conversation to be part of.

This Global Accessibility Awareness Day is a reminder that accessibility isn’t just one thing. It’s many things, all working together to make sure everyone can live well. 🌿

At Forward Ability Support and BrightSky Australia, we see accessibility as a journey, not a checklist. It’s about creating spaces, experiences, and opportunities where people of all abilities can thrive.

That’s why we so actively support adaptive sport; from wheelchair basketball through the Wheelchair Basketball Club League, Wheelchair Basketball Australia and Manly Wheel Eagles, to adaptive surfing through BrightSky Australia 2026 Adaptive Pro Surf Championship, NBPSB and the 2026 Boardriders Inclusive Classic.
Every game, race, and wave is a chance to push boundaries and prove what’s possible.

We’re also proud to have launched our Live Well Together program, designed for people living with SCI to explore new challenges, test limits, and celebrate what’s possible when accessibility is real, thoughtful, and practical.

Accessibility is for everyone. Today, we want to hear from you: what makes accessibility meaningful in your life? What helps you live well, every day? 💛

With the National Continence Health Conference 2026 this month, we want to shine a light on something often behind the scenes but vital for people with spinal cord injury: bowel and bladder care. 🌿

We know how managing these needs is about so much more than routines. It’s about creating comfort, independence, and confidence. Whether it’s support with toileting and hygiene, or catheter changes and continence management, feeling well-supported can make the difference between a day spent worrying and a day spent living fully.

Need support with Bladder and Bowel care? Our team work with you to understand your unique needs and help you live a life you want.

For Raj, person-centred care starts with listening.

Raj is our Clinical Nurse Specialist with deep experience in spinal cord injury care, wound management and continence support. With extensive experience across hospitals, aged care and in the community, Raj understands that care is effective by working closely with people and understanding their needs first.

Because great clinical care isn’t just about treatment. It’s about supporting people to live life their way.

Every shift tells a story. 💛

Early mornings. Late nights. The in-between moments that often go unseen. Being a nurse is not just about clinical care, it’s about presence, patience, and showing up, again and again, for the people who need it most.

At Forward, we see the impact our nurses make every day. The reassurance they bring. The trust they build. The quiet strength they carry through every interaction.

This International Nurses Day, we simply want to say thank you. For every shift. For every moment of care. For everything you give.

This Mother’s Day, we’re reflecting on the many ways strength shows up.

Sometimes, it’s in the quiet, everyday care. The advocacy. The resilience it takes to keep going, to keep supporting, to keep believing in what’s possible.

And sometimes, it’s in redefining what motherhood looks like.

Sam Bloom knows this journey deeply. After her spinal cord injury, she faced the very real question of what it meant to be a mother to her sons. Through that experience, she has shown that motherhood is not defined by what changes, but by the love, presence, and possibility a mother brings into her children’s lives.

Chithrani Palipana carries another kind of strength. Following her son Dinesh's spinal cord injury, she became a central pillar of support, and went on to become a disability counsellor and advocate herself. Her care has not only supported his journey, but has helped shape the path for so many others.

These are just two stories within our much wider community. Mothers who care. Mothers who adapt. Mothers who open up new ways of living, not just for their children, but for everyone around them.

Today, we recognise and honour the strength that often goes unseen, and the many ways motherhood in all forms continues to uplift and inspire. 💛

Happy Mother’s Day to all the mums out there.
