We have had some very exciting things happen at Newport school recentlyā¦
Ms OāConnell was invited to the National ASE āAssociation for Sceience Educationā Conference in Nottingham on the 9th of January. She was invited as a key note - guest speaker for Primary School Science! Ms OāConnell was introduced as an āinspirational Headteacher in a very creative schoolā and was part of a highly skilled professional question board - answering questions about how we teach science and why we do so well as a school ⦠and how we have achieved the PSQM award 3 times, 2 at the highest level!
Tomorrow Mrs Earl and Ms OāConnell are meeting virtually with the DFE (Department for Education) to talk about our inspiring Agri-rural curriculum and enrichment opportunities; such as after school clubs, trips and residentials, outdoor learning, Rota days, Enterprise and community cupcakes. It is a wonderful privalage to be able to support Government in designing the new curriculum, and show other schools how we offer so many opportunities whilst attaining highly too!
On top of all of these wonderful accolades Mr Torn and Ms OāConnell have been invited to do a presentation and workshop, about our Agri-Rural curriculum and outdoor learning opportunities at the āCouncil for Teaching outside the classroomā and outdoor learning conference in November! šA small school with a big heart! Inspiring on a national level.
Enrichment for children, is the key! š
