What's hiding underneath ๐Ÿ”

During a recent inspection, NHVR Safety and Compliance officers identified one of the worst kingpins defects they had seen!

Kingpins are a pivotal part of your truck's steering and suspension, allowing the front wheels to steer smoothly while supporting the vehicle's weight. As they wear, excessive movement can develop, leading to poor steering control, vehicle instability, steering vibration, uneven tyre wear, and reduced braking performance.

Regular inspections, proper maintenance, and addressing early issues help make sure your truck remains safe and compliant on the road.

๐Ÿšง Please be advised, the self-check weigh at Pine Creek Heavy Vehicle Safety Station in NSW will close for public use from the start of September.

The site will still remain open and be manned by NHVR staff, however, heavy vehicle drivers wonโ€™t be able to do self-weighs outside those hours. The nearest 24-hour self-check weigh station is Halfway Creek Heavy Vehicle Safety Station, located on the Pacific Highway, 32 kilometres south of Grafton, New South Wales.

Please plan ahead, allow extra travel time, and obey road signs, including Variable Message Boards (electronic signs).
