Unfortunately your local firefighters along with all union members of the Fire Brigade Employees Union have had to take industrial action against the Minns lead Labor Government. NSW firefighters backed the Minns government when they ran for office with better conditions for your NSW firefighters protecting them against work related cancers, better wages and an all round improved work conditions. We’ve given our all as we always will do for the NSW public and when we’re called to put in the extra we will always do so. We have gone through a wage freeze during Covid then a .3% pay raise (2022) and 4% (2023), we were there for the Tamworth floods and our terrible bushfires of 2019. We will always be there but as of right now the Minns government won’t even come to the table to set parameters for us to begin award negotiations and our current award has expired. This affects your firefighters being able to support their families financially and we’re all affected by the cost of living. This also fails to protect your firefighters health and wellbeing so they can once again be there for their families and you in the future. Currently your NSW PROFESSIONAL FIREFIGHTERS are operating off of an expired award and are expected to accept an expired agreement. Would you find this acceptable in your job….? Please help us make a stand and get our local government to push our plight up the food chain and have our elected government help protect those who protect you.
