Ku‑ring‑g*i SES is deeply saddened to share that our long‑serving volunteer, Ann O’Donovan, has passed away.
Ann served for around 32 years in field operations, incident management and community engagement, receiving multiple awards including the National Medal, SES State Medal and the SES Long Service Medal, as well as citations for major flood and bushfire emergencies.
She was known for her calm, caring nature and her willingness to quietly get things done, whether supporting our community on the ground or looking after fellow volunteers behind the scenes. Since 2007 she was a senior member of the SES Critical Incident and Peer Support programs, most recently supporting SES members across NSW who were impacted by traumatic events.
In 2025 Ann received the Ku‑ring‑g*i SES Flight Lieutenant Stuart Doyle Award for her outstanding contribution to the Unit. She will be deeply missed by all who served alongside her.
We extend our sincere condolences to Ann’s family, friends and colleagues.
