St John WA Northam and Kura the Bear 🐻 were delighted to visit Sparrow Early Learning Northam!
We had a wonderful time sharing an interactive session with the children, including a story about a boy who hurt his leg and needed an ambulance, learning the important emergency number to call in Australia, and practicing how to bandage an injury. It was fantastic to see the children so engaged and eager to learn through hands-on activities.
We are also very pleased to have been able to gift your service a copy of Land of Legends, encouraging little helpers with big hearts ❤️

Last year, we were honoured to recognise her as a Life Member of the Goomalling Sub Centre — a small acknowledgement of the enormous compassion, knowledge, and expertise she brings to our community every single day.

Claire’s influence stretches far beyond Goomalling. She mentors volunteers across St John WA, offering calm guidance, patience, and genuine care that helps shape the next generation of volunteers throughout the Wheatbelt.

With Claire, there are no silly questions — only opportunities to learn, grow, and share invaluable experience 💙 And of course, we can’t forget the scones at van checks, the quiet encouragement, and the kindness she brings to everything she does.

When someone in our town faces a medical emergency, the first person on the scene is rarely a doctor — it’s a neighbour, a friend, a teammate, or a passer‑by. That’s why first aid training is one of the most powerful skills we can share within our community.
