Not sure when to call the NSW SES? Here’s a quick reminder for our community.

Parramatta SES volunteers respond to emergencies caused by storms, floods and tsunamis, with the most urgent requests for assistance always taking priority.

You should call NSW SES on 132 500 if you experience:
🌳 A fallen tree blocking access to your property or road
🌳 A tree threatening to fall on your home, driveway or accessway
🏠 A damaged or leaking roof
🌧️ Flooding at your property or your property is at risk of flooding

Our volunteers carry out temporary emergency repairs and make situations safe until permanent repairs can be organised through your insurer, real estate or a private contractor.

If a tree on council land has been damaged, and is not blocking access or creating a danger to others, please contact City of Parramatta via their online services or you can call 1300 617 058.

🚨 If anyone is trapped or injured during a flood, storm or tsunami, always call Triple Zero (000).

Tonight, 10 Parramatta SES volunteers rolled up their sleeves to donate blood as part of the Emergency Services Blood Drive 🩸💪

Among tonight’s donors were 2 first-time donors, 1 member returning to donate for the first time in 10 years, and another volunteer reaching an incredible milestone of 25 donations 👏

Their contributions will help save lives across Australia during the busy winter period.

This effort adds to the amazing 762 lives already saved by NSW SES members this month through the Emergency Services Blood Drive.

🧡 Tomorrow is Wear Orange Wednesday - WOW Day! 🧡

Here at Parramatta SES, our volunteers dedicate countless hours training, responding to incidents and helping the community when severe weather strikes, often giving up their evenings, weekends and time with family to help others. From storm responses and flood operations to community events and rescue training, our members are proud to serve the Parramatta community.

WOW Day is a chance for communities across NSW to recognise and thank the incredible NSW SES volunteers who support their communities during storms, floods and other emergencies. Tomorrow, we encourage everyone to wear something orange to show support for SES volunteers across the state and help recognise the important work they do 💪🧡

🇦🇺 ANZAC Day 2026 🇦🇺

“They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old;
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them.”

Today, members of NSW SES Parramatta Unit were honoured to attend the ANZAC Day Dawn Service at the War Memorial and Cenotaph in Prince Alfred Square.

This solemn occasion provides an opportunity to reflect and pay our respects to the men and women who have served and sacrificed for our nation.

🏆 A huge weekend for Parramatta SES! 🏆

Parramatta Unit participated in this weekend’s NSW SES Metro Zone Disaster Rescue Challenge as 1 of 8 teams, taking on a series of challenging rescue scenarios over two days.

We are incredibly proud to share that Parramatta Unit placed 1st overall 🥇

To top it off, our Team Leader was also recognised with the Best Team Leader Award - a fantastic achievement and well deserved 👏

This result is a testament to the skill, teamwork and dedication our volunteers bring to every job, both in training and out in the community.

Parramatta Unit will now progress to the State Competition, we wish the team the best of luck as they take on the next challenge 💪

Last night Parramatta SES volunteers were called to Lancer Barracks and Museum Parramatta to carry out emergency repairs following roof damage caused by last week’s storm 🌩️

Due to the height of the heritage-listed building, our crews couldn’t access the roof directly. Instead, volunteers worked from inside the roof cavity to carry out temporary repairs, before finishing the job with a tarp secured from the ground.

The result? A nice shiny blue band-aid keeping this piece of Parramatta history dry until permanent repairs can be completed 💙

Over the past two days, Parramatta SES volunteers, alongside crews from NSW SES Auburn Unit and Holroyd State Emergency Service (SES), have been busy responding to damage caused by Thursday afternoon’s storm 🌩️⛈️

In total, our unit received 35 requests for assistance - with a clear theme emerging… trees 🌳

Trees on roads, trees on powerlines, trees on properties - you name it, we’ve seen it.

Our crews have been working through these jobs to make affected areas safe and restore access for the community.

Parramatta SES volunteers deployed to support Penrith NSW State Emergency Service following yesterday’s severe storms 🌩️⛈️

Powerful storm cells brought heavy rain, large hail and damaging winds, causing localised flooding, property damage and power outages across the region.

As at 6pm Saturday, 167 jobs were outstanding in the Penrith area, with around 100 completed overnight thanks to a huge multi-unit response. Crews will continue working over the coming days to support the community 🤝

The images below show some of the damage, along with temporary repairs our crews have carried out to make properties safe and provide immediate relief 🏠🔧

The NSW SES advises people in the following area(s) to MONITOR CONDITIONS of the flooding on the Parramatta River:

- Properties near and in the Parramatta CBD area and north of the river to Victoria Road

You should monitor conditions by checking warnings issued by NSW SES on their website and page, listening to your local ABC radio station, and following the latest weather information from the Bureau of Meteorology online.

What are we expecting?

No further flood impact is expected for the Parramatta CBD warning area.

Flooding is receding and no further rise in flood levels is expected. Water levels may still take some time to return to normal.
