Emergency Warning: Larmer Av, Worrowing Heights (Shoalhaven LGA) - Too Late To Leave - Worrowing Heights. Prepare Now - Sanctuary Point, Old Erowal Bay and Erowal Bay.

The fire is burning in the Worrowing Heights area under variable north westerly winds , north of Sanctuary Point, south of The Wool Rd and to the west and east of Larmer Ave and is not yet controlled.

People in the Worrowing Heights area, it is too late to leave. Seek shelter in a solid structure such as a house to protect yourself from the heat of the fire. Close all windows and doors and shelter in a room on the other side of the house from the approaching fire. Those in the area of Sanctuary Point, Old Erowal Bay and Erowal Bay should prepare now.

440 Pump attended the Annual Southern Cross Housing East Nowra Neighbourhood Party at Parramatta Park. Our Static Display provided some valuable Home Fire Safety advice for local residents.

UPDATE 5:14pm - Due to easing fire conditions, firefighters have gained the upper hand and the fire has been downgraded to Advice. Residents in the vicinity of Flora St, Seagull St and Park Row should monitor conditions and take advice from firefighters on the ground.

440 Shoalhaven F.S attended a major silo collapse at Manildra Bomaderry on Friday night.

Two large silos collapsed containing wheat. Fire and Rescue NSW crews from Nowra, Moruya, Berry and Shellharbour assisted rendering the area safe. Nobody was injured in the collapse.

Hazmat crews deployed into the Shoalhaven River by boat to assess any cleanup required. will remained on site assisting and advising Manildra management

A busy morning out in the community today for Shoalhaven Fire Station. First up was a visit to Noah’s Challenge at UOW Shoalhaven Campus. Lots of little future firefighters looked at the truck and squirted some water around while mums and dads talked to the Firies about home fire safety. I even managed a photo with two of my grandkids .
We then headed out to one of our Community Fire Units for some training with the members of our Nowra crew. Double checking our equipment and running through what maybe required of them this bushfire season. Thanks for your interest and commitment to our towns safety.
