A couple of extremely busy hours for Numurkah Rescue at Bunnings Easter night this evening. Over a hundred kids enthusiastically participated with our Rescue Ted stands, successfully carrying out Rescues and getting Ted to Hospital just in the nick of time 😉.

This Saturday, Rescue Ted's next engagement will be at the Numurkah CFA, Royal Children's Hospital Family Fun Day in Newman Square Numurkah from 10am. We look forward to seeing you there to once again Rescue Ted and learn more about Numurkah SES Rescue.

🎖️ A True Local Hero: Numurkah SES Rescue’s Johnny Decker Named 2026 Numurkah Citizen of the Year!
​Huge congratulations are in order for a pillar of our community, Johnny Decker, who was officially named the joint 2026 Numurkah Citizen of the Year with another very deserving recipient, Strathmerton CFA member Jenny Cossens, at today’s Australia Day awards! 🇦🇺
​For nearly 50 years, Johnny has been the face of dedication and selflessness. Whether it’s the middle of a night or a scorching summer day, Johnny has suited up with Numurkah SES Rescue to keep us safe. Half a century of volunteering is an incredible milestone that very few achieve, his commitment to helping others in their toughest moments is nothing short of legendary.
​Johnny, thank you for your decades of service, your leadership, and for being the heart and soul of Numurkah SES Rescue. The Numurkah SES is proud and honoured to have had you as a part of the team, this recognition is so well-deserved! 🧡🧡

💚 A Week of Mixed Emotions: Community Strength and Service 🖤
​It's been a week of profound contrasts for our Rescue unit and the community.

​On Wednesday evening, we were able to share some much needed joy and laughter as we held our end of year Christmas function. It was a wonderful celebration of our volunteers and their hard work!

​However, our hearts are heavy when we attended a devastating quadruple fatal road accident at Muckatah on Monday. Our deepest and most sincere thoughts go out to all the families and friends involved in this tragic event. Our thoughts are with you during this incredibly sad time.

​Amidst the sadness, we want to shine a light on the incredible dedication and fantastic achievements of the Numurkah Rescue Team. Many of our dedicated members received well deserved service awards at our function on Wednesday as listed below:

Hayley is missing.
The 14-year-old was last seen at Findlay Street, Strathmerton, around 5.45am on Thursday 30 October.
Hayley is described as 160cm tall, long blond hair and a thin build.
It is unknown what she was wearing at the time she disappeared.
Anyone who sights Hayley is urged to contact Numurkah Police Station on (03) 5862 3311.
