Last night we hosted our local RSL sub-branches to commemorate Vietnam Veteran's Day and the 60th anniversary of the Battle of Long Tan.

Pausing to honour and remember all Australian servicemen who fought on 18 August 1966, Council has commemorated the anniversary every decade for the past thirty years.

Mayor Bim Lange said the importance of coming together and recognising the contribution made by all who served during Vietnam cannot be overstated.

“We extend our deepest gratitude to our local Vietnam veterans and their families who have made the Barossa home. We honor those who returned to build our communities, as well as those who gave their lives in service of Australia."

Let's talk about waste! 🍃

Did you know the food scraps and other green organic waste you put in your kerbside green bin is processed by Jeffries Soil to make compost and other mulch products? 🍂

👷Our outdoor spaces team uses this material to improve soil water retention and health in locations such as Williamstown's Main Street and Barossa Park, contributing to a circular economy and a more sustainable future! 🌳
