Our TOP 3 School of the Year Finalists Have Been Confirmed!

After thousands of votes, your TOP 3 schools are:

If Oakenden wins the $10,000, they'll use the funds to repair and upgrade their tennis and basketball court, improve their playground, and establish a vegetable garden for students to enjoy.

🥇 Coningsby State School
Coningsby would put every dollar towards their playground savings fund, helping create an exciting new space for students and the wider community to enjoy for years to come.

🥇 Eimeo State School
Eimeo plans to invest in equipment for a family camp out on the oval, creating activities that bring families together and strengthen their sense of belonging within the school community.

Persuasive writing …. With a picnic twist!
Our students have been busy learning all about persuasive texts, and what better way to make learning meaningful than to put it in action!

As part of our English learning, students brainstormed foods that would be perfect for a picnic. But the learning didn’t stop there! They then worked out the ingredients needed, compared prices to find the cheapest purchasing options, prepared the food and invited our Playgroup families to join us for a picnic!

Of course, every good argument needs evidence! Everyone who joined us completed a survey so our students could collect some real-life data to support their opinions.

Now, armed with their data and taste-testing experience, our students will use their evidence to write and present a persuasive speech convincing their audience which picnic food really is the best.

We thank all of our Playgroup families for joining us and completing the survey.

⭐️ What a day at Oakenden today ⭐️

Today our little school had a very exciting visit, with the Star 101.9 crew taking over our tuckshop as part of the School of the Year competition!

A huge thank you to Star 101.9 for making JG the trip out to Oakenden and giving our students such a fun and memorable experience.
