So the opening day of the trout season had a bit of rain. This graph shows the Big river at Jokers Creek near Anglers Rest. Has risen 1.2m bit of a blow out hopefully it drops enough overnight to have a fish tomorrow 🙄🤷🏻‍♂️🎣

Hi all just wanted to clarify something I have been getting a lot of at the moment is about fishing in the area for trout. At the moment the trout season in Victoria is closed from June 9th 2026 and will reopen on September 5th 2026 on rivers but is still open on lakes to put it simply. Specifically fishing for trout on rivers at this time of the year is prohibited.
