The Ongerup Wildflower Display is nearly finished for the season – don’t miss your chance to see hundreds of local blooms all in one place.

Why not make an afternoon of it? 🌿
📍 Wander the display, then head to the Ongerup Hotel for live music by Bangers By Benny from 4.30pm.

🌸 Tomorrow is a BIG DAY – the Great Southern Treasures BLOOM FESTIVAL OPENING is in town. At the museum you’ll find:
🚜 A line-up of old machinery and vehicles outside the Blue Shed
🎨 An art & craft stall from the Kukerin Outback Blues Shed Museum inside
🔥 Live action as some of the old vehicles are fired up – including a rare Bulldog Lanz tractor!
🪓 Plus, Bully Bilney will be working his 1951 Ferguson tractor with a wood-splitter attachment.

🙌 Also a big thank you to Stirling Steelworks for fixing the Blue Shed door – just in time for the weekend!

Come for the wildflowers, stay for the history and a whole lot of character!

Yesterday’s close-up mystery was none other than… Craspedia variabilis – better known as the cheerful Billy Buttons! 🌼🎉

Fun fact: Billy Buttons aren’t just a pretty face. Their golden globe flowers are long-lasting, which is why they’re a florist’s favourite for bright bouquets and dried arrangements. Basically, the life of the wildflower party! 🎊

The Ongerup Wildflower Show is now on!
15 – 29 Sept | 9am – 4pm | $5 pp
📍 Cnr Eldridge St & Jaekel St, Ongerup

Botanically named local native wildflower show of approximately 350 species displayed in the museum precinct. The historic buildings contain native foods display, railway history, herbarium, machinery and shearing displays and social history from the Ongerup and Needilup areas.
