Do you know what your brakes are looking like or when you last had them changed?
During a regular service we inspect your brakes and let you know if/when they need to be replaced.
So what happens if you don’t do this or get regular services? The repairs can become expensive very quickly and it becomes dangerous for you to be driving your car on the road.
People will often ask how long they should be getting out of their brakes and the short answer is that you can’t answer this question. This is very dependent on many things; how you drive and use your brakes, whether you use gears to slow down, how heavy your vehicle is and more often then not, you typically get what you pay for in terms of parts.
This is your sign to know what’s going on with your car, call 63627384 to book in today 🚙🔧

Fun fact - did you know that tyres have build dates on them?
When tyres age they can become cracked, hard and less flexible, leading to decreased safety on the road. It is best to replace old tyres regardless of the amount of tread left.
You can find the build date of your tyres by looking for something similar to these images. The first two numbers are the week, and the last two are the year, eg: 19th week in 2017.
If you are unsure about your tyres and would like them checked, feel free to call in at 47 William Street, Orange and we can check them for you, or we can show you how to check them so you can be a more confident road user 🛞🔧

Do you know what happens next once your tyres look like this? BANG - blowout! It’s not a matter of if but when.
Driving on tyres like this is not only dangerous for you, and can impact you and your vehicle, it also poses a risk to other road uses when you do suffer a blow out, potentially causing an accident.
It is a good habit to get into to check your tyres. If you are unsure, feel free to call by so we can show you how, allowing you to feel more confident when driving your car.
This is also a reminder to keep your vehicle serviced regularly so that we can check your tyres for you too. When tyres wear on the inner edge it can be hard to see on the ground, let us help.
If you have any questions or would like to book in, give us a call on 63627384, or call past 47 William Street, Orange. See you all soon 😄🛞🚗

Do you know the difference between a pink slip and a blue slip?
Here at Weekes Mechanical, we’ve noticed that sometimes it can get a little confusing to know what it is that you need, so we’re going to break it down for you.
A 🩷pink slip🩷, otherwise called a ‘rego check’, is what you require for your yearly vehicle registration. You have 6 months to use a pink slip, so if you register your car for 6 months be weary of the dates to avoid paying for two pink slips a year. You can get a pink slip if your vehicle is unregistered but only if it’s within 3 months of when the registration expired.
A 💙blue slip💙 is what you require if your vehicle has been unregistered for 3 months or longer. There is quite a bit more involved in a blue slip and just to clarify, we do not do blue slips. If you require a blue slip give us a call or swing by and we’d be more than happy to provide some recommendations.
We hope that this has helped with understanding the difference between the two. If you have any questions or would like to book in, give us a call on 63627384, or call past 47 William Street, Orange. See you all soon 😄🔧🚗
