Emergency Evacuation Exercise at The Victor Chang Cardiac Research Institute
In our profession it's always a pleasure to work with companies who take WHS seriously.
This morning PRM Lead Trainer, Rod Peterson, facilitated an important Emergency Evacuation Exercise at The Victor Chang Cardiac Research Institute in Darlinghurst, Sydney.
This exercise assists in testing the adequacy of the facility emergency procedures, which is managed by the in-house Emergency Planning Committee (EPC) in accordance with AS 3745 2010.
We often provide training at mixed usage commercial properties, and medical research buildings present unique emergency management challenges. These are factored into our exercise planning under the guidance of the EPC.
Rod conducted a thorough pre-exercise briefing, followed by an evacuation exercise which was a great success. It was inspiring to work alongside our fellow colleague, Sven Knoff, Service Supervisor from Form1 Group, who was onsite to assist in simulating true fire conditions.
This level of capacity and knowledge regarding complex fire detection systems are rarely available on training days - it was a huge advantage to everyone involved having Sven on-board today.
It is a true honour to do the work we do with clients who care. We congratulate The Victor Chang Cardiac Research Institute for taking this area of WHS so seriously.
