🎉Exciting News! 🎉

The NSW Farm Business Resilience Program would like to formally share the welcomed news of the continuation of the FBRP for another 4 years!

The Albanese and Minns Labor Governments will jointly invest $43.2 million to support farmers to strengthen their drought resilience and climate adaptation, as drought continues to impact regional communities across NSW.

This funding will continue the success of phase 1 and support all NSW farmers to access subsidised learning and development opportunities to help manage risk, build long-term operational resilience, and continue to remain productive.

NSW Farm Business Resilience Program supported two Farming Stronger workshops in Tumbarumba on the 28th of May and Deniliquin on the on the 5th of June. Many farmers in these regions are carrying the weight of prolonged dry conditions and uncertainty whilst still needing to make effective decisions for their businesses, teams and families. The Farming Stronger workshops, led by coach facilitator and agricultural scientist Cynthia Mahoney, offered a circuit-breaker: a chance to step back, reflect, and recharge.

The workshops were well supported with a total 39 participants. As one of the participants said at the end of the workshop, “I feel better equipped moving forward.” And, “I feel like a lot of things that were spoken about today, a lot of people experience but don't really talk about. So it's been a good forum for everyone to get things out and affirm feelings that others might be experiencing as well”.

"We recently partnered with House Paddock Training to support learning and training in Risk Management and Work Health and Safety.

Here's what some of the producers who completed the course had to say 👇

“The course has given us the tools and confidence to recognise, categorise, rank and most importantly, address and take action on, the various risks to our business. This has improved our capacity to manage current and future risks.” Zoe Herbet- Forbes, NSW

“The WHS knowledge, confidence and motivation gained from this course, proved that we are on the right track in our implementation and improving our WHS from Bec has been invaluable.” Leanne Schoen, Corowa, NSW

NSW Farmers has once again teamed up with the NSW Farm Business Resilience Program and Rural Financial Counselling Service to deliver “Business Plan Ready” workshops across NSW.
Following on from the popular Bank Ready workshops, these sessions will allow producers of all commodities and experience levels to work through a farm business plan with the guidance of your local RFCS counsellor. Research shows that farms with structured business plans are better equipped at managing challenges posed by seasonal/ environmental conditions and market volatility, and maintaining financial stability.
These workshops will be presented by RFCS, and are free for all members and non-members of NSW Farmers to attend. We would encourage all members of your farms decision making team to come along and take part in this crucial step of your farm’s business journey.
As places are limited, we ask that you register your attendance here: https://form.jotform.com/243227593354864
