Cook Park, Orange

Cook Park, Orange Managed by Orange City Council, Cook Park is found on 4.5 hectares of parkland in the centre of Orange.

The site was proclaimed as a park in 1873 and in 1882 Cook Park was officially named in honour of English explorer Captain James Cook. Cook Park was laid out with straight paths and rows of trees, and much of that original design is still in place. Between February and May each year, hundreds of begonias bloom in the Blowes Conservatory. Other attractions are the historic trees dating back to the

late 1800s, duck ponds, aviaries, arts and craft shop and the fernery as well as many interesting plants.
