lonial architecture in Queensland. Ormiston House is listed on the Queensland Heritage Register. The house and its grounds have been carefully restored over the past 48 years, funded by the fundraising activities of a volunteer committee and a team of dedicated volunteers. Throughout the year, Ormiston House has a busy and varied calendar of open days and special events that attract many visitors and tourists to sample the delights of the house and its surrounds. There are occasions that celebrate the house’s strong Scottish connection, its history and its beautiful gardens; several Concours d’Elegance, Mother’s Day High Tea and elegant High Tea Parties on the verandah.

Mother Nature sure has expensive taste in automobiles !
The stunning day was nothing short of glorious today at the Rolls Royce Owners annual Concours.
The fastidiously polished vehicles glistened in the sunlight as proud owners competed for various prizes.
A thank you to Club President Greg Coombes for arranging this spectacular display.

Ormiston House is run by a devoted group of volunteers . All funds received go to the upkeep of the Historic House and surrounding gardens.
An enormous thank you to today’s team who were run off their feet - Jackie , Colin , Helen , Bev, Maddie and Alyssa.
Thank you also to caterer Brett Harry for his delicious High Tea Lunch Boxes.

Join us at Historic Ormiston House this Sunday the 26th July from 10am - 2pm for the annual Rolls Royce Concours held by the Rolls Royce Owners Club - QLD Branch .
Entry is $15 and includes a Devonshire Tea on the veranda, a walk through the historic house plus most importantly an up close and personal view of these magnificent machines.

It was a magical day at Ormiston House today where we celebrated “Christmas in July” in great style!
Guests enjoyed a glass or two of bubbly on arrival and sat down to a delicious High Tea, all prepared by our dedicated caterer Brett Harry, whilst being entertained by fabulous vocalist Liam Waldock.

Ormiston House is run entirely by volunteers. A huge thank you goes to Karlene B for her beautiful table settings and arrangements plus all volunteers that assisted today - Jackie, Helen, Colin, Belinda , Bev W, Vern, Michelle, Annette, Amelia and Georgia.

We look forward to seeing you at our 2027 Christmas in July !

Ormiston House is delighted to present the fabulous Liam Waldock as guest entertainer at this year’s Christmas In July on Sunday July 12 at 12pm.
Tickets are $70pp Child $35.
Guests will be treated to a glass or two of bubbly or orange juice on arrival before sitting down to a delicious Christmas themed high tea whilst enjoying the wonderful entertainment.

Ormiston House will be visited by the Vintage Chevrolet club this Sunday at 10am. Visitors are welcome to take a closer look at these much loved automobiles. They will be displayed on the lawn overlooking the bay.
The house will be open from 10am until 2pm this Sunday 14th June.
Entry $15pp $10child 5-12y. Entry fee includes Devonshire Tea .

It was an elegant afternoon at Ormiston House today with special guests dining with the Queen of Hearts …. Thankfully none lost their heads !
It was lovely to see our young ones come in costume and wonder at the magical display and enjoy an afternoon tea of sandwiches and cupcakes.
An enormous thank you to Gail and Renee for their efforts setting up the event and then dressing up as Alice and the Queen of Hearts. A massive thank you also goes to Karlene for making the wonderful tea party guests.
We are planning another magical fairytale event for next year………. Watch this space !
