Feeling Stuck? You're Not Alone.

There are a lot of young blokes in their 20s and 30s who look like they're doing fine from the outside.

They've got a job. They've got mates. They're out every weekend.

But underneath it all, they're struggling.

Too many weekends lost to partying.

Too much money disappearing on alcohol, gambling, pokies, or recreational drugs.

Working hard all week, only to wake up Monday feeling broke, flat, and no closer to where they want to be.

Then comes the frustration.

The feeling that everyone else seems to have a plan while you're just trying to get through the week.

The truth is, that hole is real. And it can get deep.

How do I know?

Because I've been there myself.

I've also worked alongside men who have been there too—from everyday blokes working long hours week in, week out, through to elite athletes and successful professionals.

No one is immune to losing direction.

Sometimes what we need isn't someone to judge us.

We need someone to listen, challenge us, help us get honest about where we're at, and start building a plan for where we want to go.

The good news?

You don't need to have everything figured out today.

You just need to take the first step.

If you're ready to make some changes, improve your habits, find some direction, and start investing in yourself, reach out.

Send me a message on Facebook or Instagram and let's have a chat about your goals and how we can work together to get you moving forward.

The best investment you'll ever make is in yourself.

Did you know some of the world's most successful people are autistic or have openly spoken about being on the autism spectrum?

People like Elon Musk have shown that thinking differently can be a strength, not a weakness.

As someone who works with young people, I often get asked if I support teenagers with ASD. The answer is absolutely.

One of the biggest misconceptions I come across is that when an ASD teen is "acting up", they're choosing to be difficult.

In reality, many are doing the best they can with a brain that processes the world differently.

What can look like defiance is often:

🔹 Anxiety
🔹 Sensory overload
🔹 Difficulty communicating feelings
🔹 Social confusion
🔹 Feeling overwhelmed, angry or swearing
🔹 Struggling with unexpected change

Imagine spending all day trying to navigate a world that often doesn't make sense to you. That's exhausting.

The good news is that many young people with ASD respond incredibly well when we stop asking, "What's wrong with them?" and start asking, "What are they trying to communicate?"

Some strategies that can help include:

✅ Clear expectations
✅ Consistent routines
✅ Giving extra processing time
✅ Staying calm during emotional moments
✅ Focusing on strengths rather than deficits
✅ Building connection before correction

Over the years, both in schools and mentoring, I've seen many neurodiverse young people thrive when they feel understood, supported and accepted.

Many have incredible strengths including honesty, loyalty, creativity, attention to detail and a unique way of looking at the world.

Sometimes what looks like challenging behaviour is actually a young person asking for support in the only way they know how.

Different doesn't mean less capable. Often, it means seeing the world through a different lens.

Most people see young blokes smiling, going to work, going to the gym, having a laugh with the boys.

What they don’t see is what’s going on underneath.

😡Anger.
🥵Stress.
😨Pressure.
↙️No direction.
💔Relationship dramas.
🏝Isolation.
💊Recreational Drugs.
🍻Alcohol.
📛Mental burnout.
🔙Feeling like they’re falling behind in life.

A lot of young men between 21–35 are carrying heavy stuff and saying absolutely nothing about it.

Because somewhere along the line they were taught to harden up and deal with it alone.

That’s where mentoring matters.

🍼Not someone to babysit you.
🗣Not therapy talk.
🎤Not lectures.

Just a solid bloke in your corner who can help you reset, build accountability, improve mindset, challenge excuses and help you move forward.

At Men’s Momentum Mentoring I don’t just work with teenage boys.

I also work one-on-one with young men trying to get their life back on track, navigate pressure, become better fathers, partners, workers and better men overall.

💬Real conversations.
💪Real support.
💩No bu****it.

After-hours and weekend sessions available.
NDIS participants welcome for approved supports.

Over the past few years through Gold Coast Men's Walk and Talk, I’ve had countless conversations with men, young men, parents, schools, and families who are simply trying to navigate life the best they can.

Sometimes people don’t need judgement.
Sometimes they don’t need another lecture.
Sometimes they just need someone in their corner.

That’s part of the reason I’ve launched Men's Momentum Mentoring a new paid mentoring and support service operating after school hours and on weekends alongside my existing work in schools and the community.

The focus is simple:
Supporting men and young men with wellbeing, confidence, emotional regulation, direction, accountability, routine, school engagement, sport, mindset, and life challenges.

I’m currently working with:
• Teenage boys struggling with disengagement or behaviour
• Young men needing guidance and structure
• Men doing it tough mentally
• Families needing extra support
• NDIS participants
• Youth justice and at-risk young people
• Athletes trying to find balance off the field

This isn’t about pretending to have all the answers.
It’s about genuine support, consistency, accountability, and helping people move forward in a positive direction.

If you feel someone in your family or circle could benefit from some extra support, feel free to reach out privately for a chat.

And as always, the walk is still there every Saturday morning at Oxenford Lake. No pressure. Just good people and conversation. 💙 - Adam

ADHD in young men is not just “bad behaviour.”

For many boys and young men, ADHD can affect far more than concentration.

It can impact:

• School and or work attendance
• Emotional regulation
• Impulse control
• Motivation
• Sleep patterns
• Organisation
• Friendships
• Confidence
• Work habits Drug and Alcohol use
• Decision-making under pressure

Sometimes the young bloke who looks lazy is actually overwhelmed.

Sometimes the one who keeps getting in trouble is acting before his brain has caught up.

Sometimes the one who “doesn’t care” has spent years feeling like he is always failing.

ADHD is evidence-based. It is linked to executive functioning, which means skills like planning, focus, memory, emotional control and follow-through can be harder.

This does not mean no accountability.

It means support needs to match the need.

Young men still need boundaries, structure, routine and responsibility, but they also need adults who understand what might be sitting underneath the behaviour.

With the right support, young men with ADHD can absolutely build discipline, confidence, resilience and direction.

They do not need to be written off.

They need to be understood, guided and backed.

Working in schools every day, you quickly realise something…
Not every “difficult” teen is a bad kid.
Sometimes the loudest student is actually struggling with confidence.
Sometimes the angry teen is overwhelmed and doesn’t know how to communicate it.
Sometimes disengagement is linked to anxiety, poor sleep, hormones, diet, low energy, undiagnosed wellbeing concerns, or things happening behind closed doors at home.
And the scary part?
A lot of young people don’t even understand what’s going on themselves.
Schools can teach subjects.
But many teenagers are never taught: • emotional control
• confidence under pressure
• communication skills
• resilience
• accountability
• self-respect
• how to ask for help
That’s why I started Men’s Momentum Mentoring.
Using my experience in Education Queensland, youth wellbeing, rugby league, and community mentoring, I work with young people who need guidance, structure, support, and someone in their corner.
Sometimes one honest conversation can change the direction of a young person’s life.

Only 2 spots left this month.

If your teenage son isn’t listening, pushing boundaries, or seems completely disengaged… you’re not the only one dealing with it.

I work with young men who need structure, direction, and someone they’ll actually listen to.

This isn’t counselling.
This is real mentoring, real conversations, and real results.

Right now I have:
• 1 after school session
• 1 weekend session

That’s it.

Once they’re gone, they’re gone.

If you’ve been thinking about getting help, don’t wait.

DM “MENTOR” now to secure a spot.

Proud to officially launch Men’s Momentum Mentoring.
Over the past few years through schools, rugby league and the community, I’ve had a lot of real conversations with young males and men.
One thing is clear a lot of blokes don’t have the support they need.
This is a space for that.
1:1 mentoring focused on:
• confidence
• structure
• direction
• real conversations
It’s not therapy. It’s practical support and having someone in your corner.
If you or someone you know could benefit, reach out.
Limited 1:1 spots available.
