Tonight we were pleased to welcome Les from the Berwick Opportunity Shop, who presented us with another generous donation.

The Berwick Opportunity Shop has been supporting our brigade since 2013, and their ongoing generosity has helped fund equipment, station improvements, training resources, and projects that directly benefit our volunteers and the community we serve.

On behalf of all members of Toomuc Fire Brigade, thank you to Les, the committee, volunteers, and supporters of the Berwick Opportunity Shop for your continued support over the past 13 years. We are incredibly grateful for everything you do for local community organisations like ours.

We are up and running at Bunnings Pakenham with snags and drinks ready to go. It might be a bit damp outside but it is warm and we have shelter set up so you won't get wet. We are looking forward to seeing you down here.

Our members will be at Bunnings Pakenham tomorrow from 9 o'clock cooking up a storm.
We hope you can all come down, grab a snag or 2 to support our little brigade and meet some of your local volunteer Fire Fighters.

Last night we trained a little differently.

We had Dan from CFA's Vegetation Management bring the 'sim table' to our station for the night.

We were able to project our response area over the walnut husk base (like sand), which showed all the hills and valleys. We then simulated a large fire in one of our high risk areas, and let our members run the job by turning out trucks, aircraft and other emergency agencies.

The Sim table accurately simulated the fires growth based on temperature, wind, topography and fuel loading.

It really showed us how incidents could turn out on any given day!

EMERGENCY WARNING - THUNDERSTORM - Shelter Indoors Now
Incident Location: Northern and eastern suburbs of Melbourne, and southern parts down to Poowong
Issue Date: Tuesday 24 February 2026, 03:11 pm

The Bureau of Meteorology has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Warning for Northern and eastern suburbs of Melbourne, and southern parts down to Poowong.
- Intense rainfall that may lead to dangerous and life-threatening flash flooding is likely.
- Very dangerous thunderstorms were detected near Greensborough, Camberwell, Preston and Reservoir at 2:50pm.
- These thunderstorms are moving towards the south to southeast
- They are forecast to affect Glen Waverley, Ringwood, Lilydale, Gembrook, Mill Park and Bundoora by 3:05 pm.
- They are then forecast to affect Dandenong, Belgrave, Berwick and the area east of Pakenham and the area northeast of Pakenham by 3:20 pm.
- This Emergency Warning replaces Emergency Warnings issued at 2:44pm.

If you are located Glen Waverley, Ringwood, Lilydale, Gembrook, Mill Park, Bundoora, Dandenong, Belgrave, Berwick and the area east and south of Pakenham towards Koo Wee Rup and Poowong, you are in danger. You should immediately move indoors to stay safe.
