Junior Secondary (Years 7-9) is focused on ensuring that each student has the prerequisite skills and knowledge for Junior and Senior Secondary and that each student gains exposure to a broad range of experiences which positions them to make informed specialisation decisions in the next phase of their schooling. Senior Secondary (Years 10-12) is focused on connecting every student to their preferred post schooling pathway and excelling in their responsibility as a leader within out community. It features comprehensive curriculum offerings that includes ATAR pathways, diplomas, school based traineeships, apprenticeships and vocational educational courses. Our school is enrolment managed, enrolments are open to students who reside within our local catchment area, or are selected for one of our excellence programs.

We are thrilled to announce that Optima Wind Ensemble has secured a place in this year’s Fanfare Regional Final following an outstanding performance at last week’s heats. As our most experienced ensemble, Optima impressed adjudicators with their technical precision and musical maturity, earning a Division 1 Platinum rating and a place in the regional final.

This achievement caps off a highly successful Fanfare season for our Instrumental Music program, with excellent results across all ensembles:

• Optima Wind Ensemble – Division 1 Platinum
• Synergy Wind Ensemble – Division 2 Platinum
• Infinity Wind Ensemble – Division 3 Silver
• Stage Band 1 – Division 1 Gold
• Stage Band 2 – Division 2 Gold
• String Theory Ensemble – Division 2 Silver

Adding to the celebrations, Synergy Wind Ensemble was awarded the Spirit of Fanfare Award. This prestigious award recognises ensembles that embody collaboration, encouragement and excellence, while contributing positively to the competition environment and inspiring those around them.

Outstanding effort from our PBC Cross Country team at the Regional Championships held at Runaway Bay.

We are incredibly proud of all runners who represented PBC with determination, resilience and sportsmanship throughout the event.

A special congratulations to Hunter, Piper, Fraser, Layla, Madison, Siena, Sonny and Rylee, who achieved top six finishes and have qualified to represent South Coast at the State Cross Country Championships in July.

This is a fantastic achievement and a true reflection of their hard work and commitment across the season.

We wish them all the very best as they prepare to compete against the state’s best runners next month.

PBC was proud to take part in the Regional NAIDOC Showcase held at Beenleigh State High School.

Our students contributed to a powerful celebration of culture, sharing in performances, learning experiences and displays that highlighted the strength, diversity and importance of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures.

It was a meaningful opportunity to connect with other schools and communities across the region in celebration and respect.

We would like to share a wonderful example of positive reinforcement involving one of our students, Callum, who was riding home from school last week on his e-bike.

While travelling near the school precinct after the school day, Callum was stopped by police conducting patrols in the area. Rather than being in response to any issue, the interaction was to acknowledge and commend him for his safe riding practices.

Callum was praised for wearing an approved helmet, having appropriate footwear, keeping his backpack secured, not carrying passengers, and riding at a safe and steady speed. As a gesture of encouragement, he was also given a McDonald’s voucher.

We are proud to see our students demonstrating responsible behaviour both at school and in the wider community.
