๐ŸŒบ SAVE THE DATE | PALM ISLAND SPRING FESTIVAL 2027 ๐ŸŒบ

Following the incredible success of the 2025 Palm Island Spring Festival, Council is excited to announce that this deadly community event will now be held every two years.

While we'd love to celebrate at this scale every year, an event of this size takes significant planning, resources and community effort. Moving to a biennial festival will allow Council to continue delivering a high-quality event that showcases the very best of Palm Island, our culture, our people, our talent and our community spirit.

While there won't be a Spring Festival in 2026, we are already looking ahead to an even bigger and better event in 2027!

๐Ÿ“… SAVE THE DATE
Palm Island Spring Festival 2027
24 & 25 September 2027

A huge thank you to everyone who helped make the 2025 festival such a success.

Together, we created something truly special and we can't wait to do it all again in 2027.

COMMUNITY NOTICE: UPCOMING ROAD REPAIRS ALONG MANBARRA ROAD

COMMENCING FROM MONDAY 31ST AUGUST,

CHANGED TRAFFIC ACCESS WHILE REPAIRS ARE ONGOING INCLUDING
TRAFFIC CONTROL AT WORK SITES:

โ€ข Council has engaged Durack Civil Pty Ltd to construct upgrade works on Manbarra road. The existing gravel road will be upgraded with a concrete pavement with drainage, footpaths, street lighting and water mains to the Manbarra Road properties.
โ€ข Durack Civil will be using local businesses including local subcontractors to complete the concreting work.
โ€ข Works and set up are expected to start from Monday 31 August to Wednesday 2 September 2026.
โ€ข The works will start at the Farm Road intersection and continue to just past the driveway of the waste transfer station.
โ€ข Residents can still use Manbarra Road during construction. The contractors will keep one lane on Manbarra Road open under traffic management while the other side is being worked on.
โ€ข A detour will be in place along Coconut Grove Road. However, works will cease temporarily to allow funeral processions to proceed.
โ€ข Residents are requested to please follow the directions of traffic controllers and obey the signs and traffic lights.
โ€ข There will be increased traffic at the Manbarra Road/Farm Road intersection during construction.
โ€ข The works are expected to take approximately 6 weeks and are intended to be completed by Mid-October.
Please contact the office if there are any further queries or concerns.

Thanks, PIASC Operations.
