Yesterday, our students and staff gathered to acknowledge Sorry Day and recognise Reconciliation Week. Our ACEO, Zoey, led a smoking ceremony to foster a sense of connection to culture and community. Zoey also explained the significance of Sorry Day and spoke with students about the important role we all play in working together for reconciliation.
Students were encouraged to reflect on what it means to belong and be connected to a community, consider their own cultural or family background and what makes it special, and think about how we can support everyone at our school to feel welcome and included. Throughout the week, students are continuing this learning to help develop their understanding of reconciliation and explore the ways they can contribute to building a respectful and inclusive school community.
Together, we continue our journey towards reconciliation by celebrating our diversity and fostering belonging for all.
