Please be aware there are road closures in place around the intersection of Paracombe and Murray roads. As you can see, a large tree has come down and requires some heavy duty equipment which should arrive early tomorrow morning.
In the mean time, if you are heading towards town, Murray Rd is open and will take you through to North East Rd or if you are heading east towards the Paracombe Oval area, you will need to use Murray or Paracombe Rd from the Inglewood end.
Clear as mud.

We are sure you have all seen the water bomber aircraft at work during past bushfire events and how critical they are in the fight to protect lives and property.
This afternoon, members of Paracombe and Hermitage brigades were given an up close and personal inspection of the aircraft which are positioned at Parafield Airport.
Many thanks to the staff of Aerotech and our own Nik Stanley for a very informative session on the logistics and operational capabilities of this part of the organisation.

⚠️ Elevated Fire Weather Forecast for Tomorrow ⚠️

While tomorrow officially marks the end of the Fire Danger Season, dry conditions remain across the state and continue to pose an increased fire risk.

This week alone, our volunteers have responded to more than 14 grass fires across the state, highlighting how quickly fires can start and spread.

🔥 With the risk still in the landscape, please take caution and remain vigilant when conducting any activity involving fire.

If conducting a burn, ensure a responsible person is in attendance at all times, water or a suitable fire extinguisher is available, and regularly check once the fire is extinguished to ensure it hasn't reignited. Ensure you follow any local restrictions or guidelines.

Your actions can help prevent unwanted fires and keep our communities safe.

Today is the official end to the 25/26 fire season and to celebrate this event, Paracombe CFS invited our neighbouring brigades, Cudlee Creek and Hermitage along to a bbq and the opportunity to spend some downtime together.
Deep Creek Conservation Park was the most significant incident this year, however the unfortunate reality is that the majority of our call-outs are for road crash incidents. Sadly this has included a number of fatalities which are always difficult to deal with.
On a more positive note, we thank the local community for its support and vigilance in maintaining their property and ensuring they have their bushfire plan in place.

Earlier this year, a number of our local brigades were called on for deployment to the Deep Creek fires. Paracombe was such a brigade that responded with a large number of our members going on deployment to a serious incident in difficult conditions and terrain.
This week we were presented with a gift basket by the CFS Foundation in conjunction with Limitless Quality Solutions as a token of their appreciation for our efforts.
( Looks like Chris has got his eye on an item in the gift box ! )

Training with a difference this week.
We don’t get many call-outs for Hazardous Material spills and / or leaks, however as a brigade, we need to have a working knowledge of the process in how to deal with them when they happen.
Specialist appliances are strategically positioned around the state with specialist crews that are ready to respond 24/7.
One such appliance is located as part of the Dalkeith CFS Brigade and they were good enough to bring their appliance to Paracombe CFS for a “show and tell” to give our members the opportunity to get some hands on experience with equipment that we don’t deal with on a regular basis.
As this presentation was out of the ordinary, we extended an invitation to our sister brigade, Hermitage, to attend as well.
Many thanks to the Dalkeith CFS crew who attended and presented on the night
