Hi I’m Anita. I am the owner of Parkes Swim Shed. We are so excited to meet you in 2026!

Who am I?
I have worked in the Outdoor Recreation industry for the last 15 years, operating in education and tourism. I am also a former paramedic with NSW ambulance which brought me out to Parkes in 2013. I been working across a range of activities that focus on safety, skill development and increasing kids love for the outdoors.

I became a swimming teacher just before my kids were born. I am qualified to teach from 6 months and older, as well as all-abilities.

What we find important at Parkes Swim Shed for our baby classes

- Heated pool!! Babies are more relaxed in the water when the temperature of the pool is 30 degrees or more

- Water familiarisation and water play

- After effective water familiarisation and breath control is established, submersion (front floating) can be introduced in a safe way

- lessons interactive and educational

- Qualified instructors
