Love Food Hate Waste NSW

Love Food Hate Waste NSW The official page of the NSW Government's Love Food Hate Waste program, managed by NSW EPA. Welcome to the Love Food Hate Waste NSW Page.

This page is managed and moderated by the NSW Environment Protection Authority. You’ll find us online during business hours (9am – 5pm, Monday to Friday). We’ll do our best to respond to you within 2 business days, however we may take longer during busy periods. We appreciate your patience. In NSW over 1.2 million tonnes of food waste is disposed in landfill each year by households and businesses,

at a cost of over $2.5 billion dollars. When this food is wasted all of the resources that went into growing, manufacturing, storing and transporting that food are also wasted. The Love Food Hate Waste program teaches households and businesses simple actions they can do to reduce the amount of food waste created. This includes actions such as:
• planning meals
• shopping to a list
• checking what items you already have
• considering portion size
• storing food correctly
• using leftovers. To help deliver the program, we work with a range of partners including councils, community groups and not for profit organisations who run Love Food Hate Waste activities in their region. For more information please visit the program website www.lovefoodhatewaste.nsw.gov.au

Kiwifruit isn’t just green anymore.

No matter the colour, they’re versatile, easy to use, and often overlooked once they start to soften.

Instead of letting them go to waste, try adding kiwifruit to smoothies, desserts or even savoury dishes.

Once soft, they’re at their best.

Making the most of what you already have is one of the simplest ways to reduce food waste at home.

What’s your favourite way to use kiwifruit?
