It is with great sadness that we share the news of the death of Paul Cox.

Paul Cox, an award-winning filmmaker, who was widely recognized as 'Australia's most prolific film auteur', was a judge for the inaugural FilmLife Project film festival in 2012.

Paul was a prolific and passionate filmmaker and we were so incredibly proud to have him involved in the FilmLife Project, not only because of his industry expertise and knowledge or his creativity and passion for the arts - but because Paul himself was very closely connected to the topic of organ donation.

On behalf of the entire FilmLIfe community, we send Rosie (Paul's partner), his daughter Kyra as well as all his extended family, friends and colleagues our thoughts and love.

Paul is pictured below, with Josephine (winner of FilmLife Project 2012 - for her film 'Ask the hard questions').

Can you imagine....

Can You Imagine is inspired by an amazing woman named Lou. Lou was diagnosed with cyctic fibrosis when she was 3 months old and grew up knowing that it was almost certain that she would need a transplant. Just before Lou's 30th birthday her health took a turn for the worse and she was in critical need of a double lung transplant. Luckily for Lou a donor became available and the transplant was successful. 'Can You Imagine...' draws us into those last moments of ones life and how one's last wish doesn't have to be someone else's last.
