✍🏽 Calling All Young Storytellers! 🖤💛❤️
2025 Patrick White Writing Competition – Now Open

The Patrick White Writing Awards are back, celebrating the voices and creative talents of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students across NSW – from Kindergarten to Year 12!

This is a deadly opportunity for our young people to express themselves through short stories, poems or plays, with a theme of their choice. Whether working solo or with their class, this comp is all about celebrating culture, creativity, and confidence in writing.

🎭 Group entries for K–3 are encouraged, especially where classes can collaborate on a shared piece. As long as one student identifies as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander, the whole class can participate.

🗓️ Entries close 31 October 2025
🏆 Prizes awarded for each year level + special encouragement awards!

💡 Spread the word in your schools, classrooms, and communities – and let’s support our next generation of storytellers!

Any changes to programs and events will be announced by the event host - make sure you follow them for up-to-date information!
