Gotcha4Life Free webinar - A Mental Fitness Approach to Understanding Neurodiversity

Every child thinks, feels and responds to the world differently, and understanding these differences helps us create environments where all children can navigate challenges, feel connected and ask for help when they need it. Join neuropsychologist Dr Hannah Korrel and Gotcha4Life’s Joy Adan as they unpack some of the most frequently asked questions about neurodiversity in primary-aged children.

πŸ“… Wednesday 9 September
⏰ 7:00–8:00pm (AEST)
πŸ’» Online via Zoom

From recognising how neurodiversity can show up beyond common stereotypes to understanding what might sit behind anxiety, low mood or big behaviours, this practical conversation will explore how mental fitness strategies can be adapted to make mental fitness more accessible and meaningful for every child.

In this webinar you will:
- Understand what ADHD and autism actually look like in primary-aged children, beyond the stereotypes.
- Recognise the presentations that commonly go unnoticed, including masking, and why a child might act differently at home versus at school.
- Get clear on stigma, blame and what a diagnosis actually does (and doesn't) mean.
- Hear practical, relatable examples you'll recognise from your own kitchen table.

πŸ”¬ 3-6 Science Week at PWPS! βœˆοΈπŸŒ‹

Stage 2 – The Science of Flight
2/3A, 3/4P and 3/4L took to the skies with some exciting aeronautical investigations! Students explored the forces of lift, drag and thrust and discovered how they influence the way aircraft move through the air. Working collaboratively, students designed and constructed their own paper planes before putting them to the test! They measured and compared flight distances and reflected on which design features helped their planes travel the furthest.

πŸŒ‹ Stage 3 – Erupting Volcanoes
4/5K, 5/6G and 5/6D joined forces with their buddy classes for some messy Science Week fun! Students worked together to design and build volcanoes from sand before watching them erupt using detergent, vinegar and bicarbonate of soda. It was wonderful to see our older students sharing their learning, supporting their buddies and enjoying science together.

A fantastic week of questioning, experimenting, designing and discovering across Years 3–6! πŸ”¬βœ¨
