We would like to conduct a peaceful protest tomorrow morning at the Benalla Golf Club. The golf club promotes it's beautiful kangaroos to tourists and members on its website. However they now have successfully applied for a permit to kill these kangaroos. Shooting was meant to begin tomorrow. We would like to show our disgust in their actions and support for our wildlife. These families of kangaroos have lived there for many years peacefully, this is not ok to slaughter their families. Good morning everyone,
A quick Thankyou post to those who have donated items and monetary donations.
It's with your amazing support that we can continue to rescue, rehabilitate, raise, treat, and release our amazing Australian Wildlife.
I've forgotten to get picks of the fruit and vegetables that we purchase on a regular basis but thankyou for donating towards everything we need to care for wildlife.
Everyday we use a lot of different items depending on the wildlife in care.

At present we have...

6 kangaroo joey's *Indaly is leaving here this afternoon.
3 Galahs
1 Blue Tongue Lizard
1 Pigeon
1 King Parrot

A variety of foods, seeds, formulas, medical, heat pads/boxes/reptile tank/ humidity crib are all on at the moment, vet bills and other items are needed for everyday care.

Remember Miss Mindy that arrived here June 2023 (3yrs ago) weighing 700gms.
Well LnLz Wildlife Care & Rescue are pretty sure she home for a visit. We can't thank them enough for taking her on.
I'll put photo of her in comments on the day she arrived here.

🦘🦘🦘Joey Check in, 6 in care 💞💞💞

This past week has been a roller-coaster of mixed emotions of sadness, broke sleep, hope, joy, grief and also laughter.

🦘Gemma 3kg is doing really well.
🦘Harlen 2.5kg thinks he's the King of the world, he's the funniest little man, he's the mischievous one already.
🦘Indaly 4.5kg is about to go to her new home this week as she's getting "too big" for here.
🦘Jay 3.5kg has a few muscular issues and couldn't really hop when he arrived, he'd stoop everywhere but not he can hop for about 9 meters, he's getting stronger everyday. Lots of physio for him.
🦘Kermit 280gms was found by Barb on a road trip. Rip 😪
🦘Laci was rescued by a young man who met us in Wangaratta.
🦘Milo was rescued by locals 405gms.Rip😪
🦘Norma-Jean 540gms was rescued in Whitfield and brought to us by Barb . She is doing beautifully and sleeps in a humidity crib and fed every 4hrs including overnight.

Little "pinkies" like Kermit and Milo very rarely survive or need to be put to sleep. Their little bodies and organs aren't formed enough to survive in our world. We find alot have bruising and possibly internal injuries.
Knowing they are warm, loved and a full belly is bitter-sweet but it's better than knowing that they passed away cold, laying on the side of the road, or survive 3 days in their Mummas pouch.

Please stop and check for a joey if you accidentally hit wildlife or find a Roo that has passed, as you never know if there's a little one inside the pouch.
If you don't know how to, ring your local wildlife shelter or Wildlife Victoria or Wires *(nsw) and they'll talk you through it.

Also in care are SugarGlider, Blue Tongue and 3 King parrot, we had a Tawny Frogmouth who passed away from car accident

"Nelson and Sparky "

These 2 boys have been an achievement that I can be proud of, not that I'm not of every rescue but I hadn't had a velvet wallaby joey in, and raised it.
I have learnt so much with these 2, they're not like Kangaroo joey's, they in a category of their own, it's like having 2 hypo kids at times, especially Nelson 🤣

Nelson arrived here on 28/12/26 weight 570gms, I'll be honest, i thought i was going to loose him but long nights and watching him very closely, we made it through. Things got a bit easier when Sparky came along as they had each other for company, sleeping and playing together.

Sparky arrived here on the 1/2/26 weight 850gms and such a cuddler from the start.

On Tuesday afternoon we farewelled them both, off to their forever home, where they will continue to be raised and then when old enough they will be soft released, with a choice to come back as they please.

They are both still in the local area and will get updates from their new human parents.

Nelson's weight was 3.1kg and Sparky's weight was 3.6kg when they left.

Thankyou to you all for helping support us so we can continue to help raise, rehabilitate and love our beautiful Australian Wildlife.
