WHAT IS HERITAGE
The evidence of the past, such as historical sites, buildings, and the unspoilt natural environment, considered collectively as the inheritance of present day society. For communities, heritage plays a major role in the appeal and life of neighbourhoods. Even heritage places with no current use or in a neglected state can provide the impetus for revitalising a neighbourhood. Retaining the old as part of a new use creates unique precincts and renews community life and enjoyment of the place.

Message from Steve Wellburn:
To all concerned with the Pemby 'old' school building.
On Wednesday this week at the club is the 'co-location meeting where I expect the school building will be discussed.
Hopefully the shire will advise us that the building will be saved, upgraded & used for the CRC & Tourist Bureau - although I wouldn't hold your breath.
The sites I believe are:
1. House the two facilities in the club.
2. Build a multipurpose facility on the site of the RSL & Day Care centre land &
3. Repair the school building & utilise that.
The meeting starts at 6.30 pm.
I forgot (I'm old) but another suggestion under consideration for a 'co-location site. Is the now unused 'Freemasons hall in Jamison St. Could you think anything better than caravans parked in that street whilst people look for info, that is if they could find it.
