This Father’s Day, we’re thinking of the dads and father figures who show up in the small, everyday ways… early mornings, late nights, hard conversations, gentle encouragement.

Fatherhood isn’t about being perfect. It’s about being present. It’s in the effort, the consistency, and the care that shapes families and strengthens communities.

We also recognise that this day can carry mixed emotions. We hold space for those who are grieving, those navigating complex relationships, and those who step into fatherly roles in their own way.

Sally ensures people experiencing hardship are met with practical support, dignity and compassion at Mary Mac's Place, our homelessness drop-in centre and community kitchen in Woy Woy.

As the centre's sole support worker, she works alongside 40 volunteers to provide more than 100 meals each day and connect people with vital crisis services and assistance.

For nearly 8 years, Sally has been the key driving force behind the community hub and works tirelessly creating a safe, welcoming space where thousands of people find nourishment, dignity and connection each year.

Prior to joining Mary Mac’s she was in child protection for 17 years in the Out of Home Care sector.

If Sally is fortunate enough to win Westfield hero, the grant will cover Mary Mac's Place running costs, including utilities, food and operations that keep hot meals, showers and laundry services available daily. This is an unfunded service so we rely wholly on donations and grants to keep this essentials service running so please vote for Sally!

Building resilience in children isn’t about toughening them up - it’s about connection. As this article explains, kids learn to manage big emotions through co-regulation, when safe, calm adults support them until they can do it on their own.

But bullying isn’t just a school issue. It happens in workplaces, online, and within communities, affecting people of all ages.

This Bullying No Way Week, CatholicCare acknowledges the lasting impact bullying can have on mental health and wellbeing.

More than 90 Central Coast residents star in “The Cast”, a new short film that puts a spotlight on how everyday language shapes our self-worth, reinforces gender inequality, and drives domestic and family violence. A first for our region “The Cast” captures the seemingly subtle words embedded in everyday conversations and reveals the long-term harm these words can cause.

Violence against women and children is widespread – and preventable. Gender inequality, fuelled by language like this, is a recognised driver of domestic and family abuse.

𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗯𝗲𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗶𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝘄𝗲 𝘄𝗮𝗹𝗸 𝗯𝘆 𝗶𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗯𝗲𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗶𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝘄𝗲 𝗮𝗰𝗰𝗲𝗽𝘁. 𝗜𝗳 𝘄𝗲 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗴𝘂𝗮𝗴𝗲, 𝘄𝗲 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗳𝘂𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲.
