Being a newly sprouted small business, Serene Earth Sustainability has seen steady growth and a lot of distance covered over autumn and winter.

“This is my first small business. I am very proud to be doing something that I’ve always loved so much, had a real genuine passion for, and that can help people,” said owner Jakki Kruger.

“I heard of the SBDC through City of Kwinana, because they’re really good with supporting local small businesses here.”

“On reflection, I wish I had found and used the SBDC earlier before I went into business, because there’s many things I should have checked through and known before launching.”

Scammers rely on silence. By sharing these stories, you can help others recognise the warning signs, start important conversations and stay one step ahead of scammers.

Are your business assets protected? 🔒

The Personal Property Securities Register (PPSR) is a low cost tool that safeguards your interests when buying, selling, leasing, or hiring assets. By registering, you ensure your rights are secured if a business or customer defaults or becomes insolvent. This is especially important for industries like construction, where equipment and materials are often left on site.

The key benefits of the PPSR include:
✅️ Secure your interests in personal property.
✅️ Protect assets even when they're not in your possession.
✅️ Enhance your position against other creditors in insolvency situations.

For many people, the sound of classic video games instantly brings back memories of afternoons spent mastering favourite titles with family and friends.

In the heart of City West, those memories are being brought back to life through The Nostalgia Box - an immersive retro gaming experience that celebrates the consoles and games of decades past.

Owner David Green describes his concept simply: “We are the retro video game museum where you not only get to learn the history of video game consoles but get to play all the consoles too.”

David’s opportunity to take over the existing business arrived when he was looking for a new challenge.

“I bought this business back in 2019 because the owner was suffering from burnout and needed a change. We saw a huge amount of potential.” David shared.
