🏅 Sport has the power to shape healthier communities, stronger connections and a more vibrant economy.

The WA Sport Industry Conference returns on 14 October, bringing together industry leaders, policymakers and changemakers to explore the role sport can play beyond participation and performance.

Presented by SportWest in partnership with the WA Government, the conference will feature industry leaders, practical case studies and opportunities to connect with colleagues from across WA.

🎭🎨 Round 2 of the Kids Access All Areas Vouchers program is now open!

Families can claim a $50 voucher for eligible children aged 5 to 15 years, with up to 4 vouchers available per family, to attend arts and cultural events across Western Australia.

With more than 100 participating venues and providers, there are plenty of opportunities for children to experience theatre, music, exhibitions and more.

Claiming a voucher is easy:
✅ Reserve your voucher(s)
✅ Purchase tickets to an eligible arts or cultural event
✅ Upload your tax invoice to claim your rebate

The easiest way to claim is through the ServiceWA app via the Offers tab. Alternative application methods are also available.

Please note: families who received a voucher in Round 1 are not eligible for a voucher in Round 2.

The Arts Activities in Regional Communities program is now open, supporting arts and cultural activity right across regional WA!

Whether you're planning a community festival, creative workshop or locally led arts project, the Creative Projects category offers grants of up to $60,000. Regional local governments can also apply for up to $50,000 through the Creative and Cultural Planning category to develop or refresh creative and cultural plans.

It's all about creating more opportunities to participate in, access and experience arts and culture in regional communities.

⚽ For some fans, Calcio Italiano was more than a football tournament.

When Victorian Inter Milan supporter Vince Salviani heard his beloved club was coming to Perth, there was only one thing to do. Book the flights and bring the family.

From watching Inter take the field and meeting club legends at open training sessions, to exploring Fremantle, Kings Park, the WA Museum and the South West, the trip became much more than match day.

“It was like an out-of-body experience” Vince said.

Like thousands of visitors, Vince turned a football festival into a WA holiday, discovering local food, attractions and experiences along the way.

The goals may have stopped, but the memories are still playing on repeat. 💙🖤

⚽🧵 Every stitch tells a story.

Before the first ball of Calcio Italiano was kicked in Perth, local maker Emily Hessell was busy creating a special set of handcrafted footballs to mark the event.

Made from kangaroo leather and hand-stitched tile by tile, each ball took up to 12 hours to complete and was presented to AC Milan, Inter, Juventus and Palermo FC as official gifts during their visit.

In this video, Emily shares the craftsmanship behind her work, captured before the tournament brought a little taste of Italy to WA.

Now that the final whistle has blown, it's a fitting way to look back on a memorable month of football, culture and connection.

Our Aboriginal History WA team provides a research service to help Aboriginal people access historical records and learn more about themselves, their families and their ancestors.

More than 500 community sport and recreation assets delivered, with more to come🏃‍♀️🏉🚴

From clubrooms and courts to lighting, playing fields and aquatic facilities, these projects are helping local clubs welcome more participants, support growing communities and create more inclusive spaces for people of all ages and abilities.

With 384 projects completed across metropolitan WA and 158 in regional communities, the momentum is building as PlayOn WA works towards delivering 2,030 community sport and recreation assets by 2030.

Every project tells a local story. A club growing stronger. A community coming together. A new opportunity to get active.

🎶 WA Music Week artist spotlight: Noah Dillon

With support through the Contemporary Music Fund, Noah toured across Europe and the UK with the John Butler Trio, performing 25 solo sets across eight countries and playing to more than 8,500 people along the way.

The tour introduced Noah's music to new audiences around the world, helped grow his online following and gave him the opportunity to create industry connections that could lead to future touring opportunities.

As we celebrate WA Music Week, Noah's journey is a reminder that local artists can take WA stories and sounds to audiences everywhere.
