A day to acknowledge the Stolen Generations and the deep harm caused by the forced removal of First Nations children from their families.

It is a day for truth.
For remembering.
For listening to survivors and honouring those who never came home.

A day to pause and to hold space.

Playgroup will be closed for the upcoming week as our team heads to the Kimberley to meet and train with other AFaFE staff from across the state.

We’re excited to learn, connect, and bring back lots of new ideas to share with you!

Did you know when you regularly attend Moort Waabiny Aboriginal Playgroup, we provide families with a free incursion or excursion experience each term? 🌿✨

At the end of Term 1, we welcomed Eco Action, who brought along a wide variety of fascinating mini-beasts for us to observe and interact with 🐛🕷️🐌. As you can see, our confident koolangkas had no worries getting up close and personal with these little creatures, so deadly to watch!

We can’t wait to see you join us in Term 2 as we dive into all things ocean 🌊🐠.

So if you’re looking for a culturally safe, welcoming, and engaging space for your 0–4 year old, come along for a coffee and a yarn with other families and be part of the fun. ☕

Perfect for children aged 0–4 years and their families, this interactive session is all about connection, culture, and creativity.

If you’ve ever wondered what a typical day at Moort Waabiny Aboriginal Playgroup looks like...

Our days are filled with laughter, learning, and connection. This term, our n***y ones have been busy exploring the wonderful world of mini-beasts 🐞🕷️ discovering, observing, and letting their curiosity lead the way.

We love getting hands-on in the kitchen too! Together we’ve been cooking up delicious creations like homemade pizzas 🍕 and bravely exploring the tastes of new vegetables 🥕🥦

There’s always plenty of sensory play, where our children dive into textures, colours, and creativity, often creating their own mini masterpieces to take home. We’ve also been working together on a special collaborative Harmony Week art project, celebrating culture, belonging, and community.

As the term starts to come to an end, we’re excited for some very special events 🎉 including:

📚 An excursion to Ruth Falkner Library for Noongar Story Time
🐝 A fun and interactive mini-beast incursion with Eco Action
🐰 An Easter egg hunt
🥪 A shared lunch with our playgroup families
