🌸 Heartwood Bentley is in full bloom with the community coming together to make a meaningful impact 🌸

We were proud to collaborate with Town Team Movement at the Festival of Doing which brought hundreds of participants to the area to paint road art designed by local school students, activate the netball courts with colourful new additions, and take part in a Heartwood Collective mini makeover.

The festival encouraged attendees to get hands-on and was a great reminder of what communities can achieve when they come together for a shared cause.

We also celebrated the opening of Heartwood Collective; the new community hub located at the former Bentley community garden and Scout Hall site.

Heartwood Collective is run by a group of volunteers who are reinventing and activating the space, with the goal of bringing neighbours together and fostering community spirit.

We have transformed the former Princess Margaret Hospital site into an elevated community space that honours the history of its past and leads the area into an exciting new future.
Explore the lush landscaping, PMH memorial garden and hospital timeline, new playground, and revitalised Thomas Street underpass which once again connects West Perth and Subiaco.
Works are continuing on six lots in the precinct which will provide around 1,000 residential apartments once complete.

🏗️🏠 Construction is underway at Woodbridge and Rivervale

We’ve reached an important milestone, with the Woodbridge and Rivervale apartment developments now under construction — the first step in delivering one of the largest affordable and social housing programs in Western Australia’s history.

These first two developments being constructed by EMCO Building will deliver 100 new one and two bedroom apartments, with construction at Redcliffe also starting in June. The remaining developments will progressively begin construction throughout 2026.

📍 🌱 Supporting a mix of affordable and social housing close to public transport, services and employment, these 14 build-to-rent developments will deliver 1,145 new homes across Perth. Around 80% will be affordable housing and 20% social housing, with homes designed to be energy efficient, climate responsive and accessible.

🤝 DevelopmentWA is proud to be partnering with EMCO Building, PACT Construction and ICON Construction to deliver these developments, supporting the State and Federal Governments to help more Western Australians have a place to call home.

🌿 A milestone moment at 195 Pier Street

Late last month, we marked 195 Pier Street reaching its full height with a traditional tree‑hoisting ceremony on the rooftop – a centuries‑old construction tradition that signals a building has reached full height and recognises the work still to come.

This moment brought project partners together on site and offered a striking view across Perth’s CBD, highlighting just how centrally connected this future build‑to‑rent development will be.

▶️ Watch the video to see the milestone marked on site and hear more about this important project.

Once complete, 195 Pier Street will deliver 219 rental apartments, including social and affordable homes, supporting access to well‑located housing close to transport, jobs and services.

Thank you to Icon, HASSELL, and the broader project team for their continued collaboration in delivering this important inner‑city housing project.

🎉 195 Pier Street reaches full height 🎉

We’ve marked a major construction milestone at 195 Pier Street, with the building’s structure now complete and the 29‑storey tower reaching its full height.

This is a significant step towards delivering much‑needed housing in Perth’s CBD. Once complete, 195 Pier Street will provide 219 rental apartments, including 66 social homes and 44 affordable homes, alongside market rentals.

The development will be owned and operated by a Community Housing Provider, supporting long‑term, secure and high‑quality housing for the community.

Located close to public transport, jobs, education and services, 195 Pier Street is designed to support a diverse and inclusive inner‑city community and help more Western Australians access well‑located housing.

Thank you to Icon for leading construction on site, Hassell for the architectural design, and the broader project team for their continued collaboration in delivering this important project.

Bentley Place Plan Launched 🎉

Hundreds of community members gathered in Bentley for an afternoon of family friendly games, food, and a movie under the stars as we launched the Bentley Place Plan.

The plan was developed with Town Team Movement and was shaped by feedback directly from Bentley residents.

It reflects what locals value most about Bentley and sets out a shared vision for the Bentley Redevelopment Area to create a more connected, welcoming, and inclusive place.

The plan has a strong focus on improving streets, parks and public spaces, strengthening local identity, and supporting community-led activities that help bring people together.

We’re continuing to support Albany’s growth by delivering new residential land at Oyster Harbour, Bayonet Head.

We’re progressing Stage 9 of the estate, with the first 20 residential lots recently released as part of a broader program that will ultimately deliver 46 lots.

These lots range in size from 510 to 752 square metres, providing flexibility for different housing needs and lifestyles. A portion of Stage 9 will also be dedicated to social housing, helping create a more inclusive and balanced community.

Our approach is about more than just land delivery. By staging development over time, we’re helping ensure a steady supply of land, supporting local jobs during construction, and giving the building industry certainty as the precinct continues to take shape.

Alongside Oyster Harbour, we’re also progressing more than 190 residential lots at Clydesdale Park Estate in McKail. Together, these projects reflect our ongoing commitment to creating well planned communities, supporting regional economies, and providing the foundations for people to live, work and connect in Albany.
