Known as the Garden City, the City of Bayswater covers a beautifully maintained area of 33km2 located just 6km north-east of Perth's CBD. It is home to a number of picturesque, exciting and educational attractions and 10km of Swan River foreshore. The following guidelines apply to everyone who engages with City of Bayswater social media platforms. These platforms may include Facebook, YouTube, Lin
kedIn, Instagram, X, Snapchat, Vimeo, as well as any social media, website, message board, vlog or digital presence not listed. The City of Bayswater encourages community engagement and values connecting with our community online. The purpose of our social media channels is to provide a positive online space for residents and the wider community to find out about local stories, events, activities, projects and updates relevant to life in the City of Bayswater. To keep our social media pages a safe space for all, we reserve the right to hide or remove posts that do not adhere to the following guidelines. We do not tolerate posts that are:
• Abusive, harassing, stalking, threatening or attacking others
• Defamatory, offensive, obscene, vulgar or depicting violence
• References to upsetting or distressing subjects
• Hateful in language targeting race/ethnicity, age, religion, gender, sexual preference/orientation, nationality or political beliefs
• Sexually explicit or pornographic
• Fraudulent, deceptive, misleading or unlawful
• References to criminal or illegal activity
• Violations of any intellectual property rights
• Spamming or repetitive
• Unrelated to the topic or to the City’s community
• Advertising material
• Repeatedly target an individual
• False or defamatory in nature
• A violation of Facebook’s Community Standards. Removal of posts
We reserve the right to remove any comments or content that does not adhere to our guidelines or with any other applicable Terms and Conditions, rules or laws. Users who breach the Community Guidelines will receive a message from moderators warning of a ban should they continue to breach the guidelines. User bans
If a user continues to breach the Community Guidelines, even after being warned by the moderators, they will be banned from the City of Bayswater’s relevant social media page. This is done to remove a user who is seen as persistently undermining the City’s Social Media Community Guidelines. We will inform the banned user as to why the ban has occurred, referring to the comment or content that has led to the decision and how it breached guidelines. Moderators will provide the banned user with an email address for contacting the moderators to regain access to the social media page. If contacted, moderators will decide on a case-by-case basis whether to unban a user based on an assessment of whether the abusive behaviour will continue or not. The City of Bayswater’s social media channels will be monitored and actively moderated from Monday to Friday, between 8am and 5pm AWST. Should you require an urgent response, contact the City of Bayswater on 9272 0622. As our social media accounts are not constantly monitored, inappropriate content may at times filter through. We will endeavour to remove such content as soon as possible. Privacy protection
