🌟 Welcome to Palmerston, Areeza! 🌟

Areeza has joined Palmerston as a Case Worker.

She is looking forward to supporting, sharing and learning from colleagues and clients.

A few fun facts about Areeza:
🥣 Acai fruit bowl is her office fridge essential.
🍰 Her guilty pleasure? Tiramisu — simple and delicious!
🐦 Her pick for Palmerston’s office mascot? An ibis (bin chicken)! 😂

Welcome to the team!

🌱A beautiful spring day - Djilba Season in the Great Southern.

Palmerston was pleased to welcome Minister Jessica Stojkovski MLA and Alison Evans, CEO of the Centre for Women’s Safety and Wellbeing, alongside our Palmerston and Kadadjiny teams, to tour Kareba House Women’s Refuge in Katanning.

It was a wonderful opportunity to connect with local leaders and showcase the important services being delivered across the Great Southern to support women, families and our regional communities.

A great reflection of the strength of local partnerships and the important work happening across our region.

🪻International Overdose Awareness Day

Today, Palmerston pauses to remember the lives lost to overdose and to stand alongside the families, friends and communities carrying that loss.

Behind every statistic is a person. Someone who was loved, someone who mattered, someone whose life touched others.

International Overdose Awareness Day is an opportunity to remember without judgement or stigma. To acknowledge the grief and impact of overdose, and to remind our communities that compassion, connection and support matter.

💜 We remember
💜We acknowledge
💜We stand together

It was a pleasure to welcome Holly Deane-Jones to Palmerston Farm. She shared her story and spent time connecting with our residents.

The evening was filled with honest conversations, thoughtful questions, shared experiences and plenty of meaningful moments.

We’re grateful to Holly for sharing her time, experiences and insights and to our residents for their openness and engagement.

It was a wonderful reminder of the power of connection, conversation and sharing our stories.

💜 Wear It Purple Day at Palmerston 💜

Today we’re proud to celebrate Wear It Purple Day and stand with LGBTQIA+SB young people, their families, allies and communities.

This year’s theme Colours of Courage recognises the many different ways courage is shown every day. Through being yourself, speaking up, supporting others and creating spaces where everyone feels safe, welcome and included.

Across Palmerston, our teams are wearing purple, sharing conversations and coming together to celebrate inclusion, connection and belonging. 💜

🦷💙 Better health starts with access.

We’re proud to see George Davies House continuing to grow as a place where people can access integrated, client-centred support.

Our partnership with Uniting Smiles Charity is bringing free dental care to people experiencing barriers to essential healthcare alongside Palmerston’s existing services.

It’s a great example of what can be achieved when organisations work together to help people thrive.

Palmerston CEO Emma Jarvis and staff had the privilege of joining the Kwelena Step Up Step Down to celebrate 10 years of supporting people experiencing mental health challenges across our community.

The celebration was a wonderful opportunity to hear stories, reflect on the impact of the service and recognise the dedicated staff, peer workers, volunteers, carers, families and community partners who have contributed to Kwelena’s journey.

A special thank you to In Culture for the Welcome to Country, smoking ceremony, kangaroo stew and damper.

Happy 10th Anniversary, Kwelena! Here’s to the next chapter.
