To all the grandparents out there 🙌🏼

“I am a grandparent, so it makes me very popular with my grandchildren!” 😄

This lovely quote comes from the recent Toy Libraries Social Return on Investment research by Think Impact. It captures something many families already know. Toy libraries are not just for parents. They are a wonderful resource for grandparents too.

In the survey, 9% of respondents identified as grandparents.

For many, a toy library membership means a greater variety of toys without cluttering the house when the grandchildren are not visiting all the time. When they do visit, there is always something new to play with.

Toy libraries also create special moments between generations. Borrowing toys together, discovering something new, and sharing playtime can become a regular outing that grandparents and grandchildren both look forward to.

For some older members, volunteering at the toy library also opens the door to social connection and a chance to stay active in their local community.

Toy libraries bring generations together through play, connection and shared experiences.

If you are a grandparent looking for something special to do with your grandchildren, your local toy library might be a great place to start.
