Our Year 10 Business Management students have spent the past three weeks working incredibly hard to plan, create, market and sell their own products as part of their class assessment.

Students designed and produced a wide range of items including 3D printed fidgets, donuts, milkshakes, crafts, biscuits, jewellery, cupcakes, brownies, waffles and much more, selling their products to students and staff at recess and lunch.

Throughout the project, students developed valuable real-world business skills including teamwork, budgeting, marketing, customer service and problem solving.

Many students successfully covered their expenses and even made a profit, with some choosing to donate proceeds to charity.

Well done to all of our Year 10 students on your creativity, effort and professionalism — you have certainly set a very high standard for next year’s classes!

The amazing baked goods were sold at recess and customers tasted and voted on their favourites.

Congratulations to Rose P and Shana T for winning the golden spatula and a Karrinyup voucher. Congratulations also to Pearl C for second place winning a Yo Chi voucher and Magnus F and Cody C for equal third and scoring a canteen voucher.

Proceeds from the bake sale will go to Foodbank. Thank you to the Year 7 leaders, Sam Wilson, Amber Lawrence and Tara Dullabh for coordinating the competition.

A small group of Year 9 students recently had the opportunity to experience a day in the life of a TAFE student at North Metropolitan TAFE for a Fashion and Letterpress career taster. Throughout the day, students developed skills related to printing and graphic design, as well as fashion design and technology.

To conclude the experience, each student designed, created, and screen printed their own tote bag to take home. It was a highly engaging and enjoyable day, with all students gaining valuable hands-on experience and insight into future pathways.

A group of Year 10 Photography students had the opportunity to attend a full-day excursion at Murdoch University, immersing themselves in a series of hands-on workshops designed to deepen their knowledge and skills in photography.

Throughout the day, students participated in three engaging sessions. The first workshop focused on composition, where they learned to frame the perfect shot using the Rule of Thirds. In the second session, students stepped into the studio to explore portrait photography, experimenting with various constant light sources, angles, and colour schemes to enhance mood and storytelling. The final session offered a more abstract challenge—drawing with light and colour. This creative exercise encouraged students to push the boundaries of traditional photography and explore innovative visual techniques.

In addition to the workshops, students were given a tour of the Murdoch University campus, experiencing firsthand what a day in the life of a university photography student might look. From state-of-the-art facilities to inspiring studio spaces, they gained valuable insight into the opportunities available in higher education for creative arts.
