Groovy Boots Theatre is the brainchild of Chris Thomas and Phil Barnett, who both have an extensive background in Perth’s theatre scene, with a combined 25 years' experience. Wanting to take theatre a step up to the next level, their vision is to stage productions where cast and crew will be paid for their efforts. Matters at the Perth Institute of Contemporary Arts and toured the show to Kalgoorlie-Boulder in May 2010 on behalf of Stage Left Theatre. In 2010 Groovy Boots Theatre officially announced its launch and staged the hilarious Australian play Dimboola at the Victoria Park Bowling Club.
