🚒🔥 BUSHFIRE SEASON REMINDER – PROPERTY OWNERS
With bushfire season approaching, East Swan Volunteer Bush Fire Brigade is reminding residents that fire hazard reduction requirements must be completed before 1 November and maintained until 30 April each year.
🏡 PROPERTIES UNDER 5,000m²
✅ Keep grass to a height of no more than 10cm.
🌾 PROPERTIES 5,000m² AND OVER
✅ Install and maintain firebreaks at least 3 metres wide with 4 metres vertical clearance.
✅ Reduce grass and other fire hazards in accordance with the applicable Fire Hazard Reduction Notice for your property.
⚠️ Don’t leave it until the last minute! Overgrown grass, vegetation and inadequate firebreaks can increase bushfire risk and may result in non-compliance with local requirements.
📋 Know your requirements. Property owners should check the City of Swan’s current Fire Season Guide and Hazard Reduction Notice to ensure their property meets the requirements.
