Western Australia has secured multiple WWE events through to 2028, with a new three-year agreement set to attract tens of thousands of visitors and generate millions of dollars for the state’s economy.

Secured by the WA Government through Tourism WA, the deal will see Perth host annual WWE Weekend Takeovers from 2026 to 2028, featuring Friday Night SmackDown, a WWE Premium Live Event and Monday Night RAW.

To date, WWE events in Perth have generated more than $58 million for the WA economy, delivering benefits across the tourism, hospitality and events sectors, while supporting local businesses.

⏰ Tourism WA is giving operators more time to apply for the 2025–26 Dream Collective!

The application deadline for our top industry recognition program has been extended to 6 September 2026.

Last year, the Dream Collective showcased 219 WA tourism operators and experiences across the state, delivering 15 million campaign impressions, 2.6 million social media impressions and 75,000 website views.

Western Australia's Winter of Unmissable Sport has delivered strong results for the state, with Calcio Italiano generating significant tourism, media and economic benefits.

The three Australian-exclusive matches attracted a combined crowd of more than 170,000 fans to Optus Stadium and HBF Park, including thousands of interstate visitors travelling to WA for the events.

The football festival has also generated an estimated $110 million in global media value for Western Australia, with more than 4,100 media mentions across Australia and key international markets, reaching audiences of more than 11 billion.

Supported by the WA Government through Tourism WA, Calcio Italiano forms part of the state's Winter of Unmissable Sport program and demonstrates the value of major events in driving visitation, supporting local businesses and jobs, and showcasing Western Australia on the world stage.

Tourism WA is inviting expressions of interest from WA tourism operators for the next intake of our Trade Ready Introduction Program (TRIP).

TRIP provides established WA tourism operators with financial assistance and support to expand into interstate and international markets through the facilitation of trade engagement opportunities.

Applications submitted by Wednesday, 30 September 2026 will be considered for intake into the 2027 program.

Tourism WA is offering a new travel voucher program, offering 50 per cent off selected tours and experiences in the Kimberley to help drive visitation and support tourism businesses impacted by rising fuel costs.

Building on the success of the Ningaloo Adventure Voucher Program, the initiative encourages visitors and locals to explore one of WA's most iconic regions while supporting local jobs, businesses and communities.

Vouchers will be available from Monday, 6 July for travel between 13 July and 31 October 2026.

The Sunrise team kicked off at Optus Stadium, showcasing WA’s Winter of Unmissable Sport which will be headlined by Calcio Italiano, before heading to Exmouth to highlight the incredible tourism experiences on offer on WA’s Coral Coast.

A new chapter for Aboriginal tourism in Western Australia 🌿

Tourism WA is proud to launch the Jina: Western Australian Aboriginal Tourism Action Plan 2026–2030 today, backed by a $20 million investment to support Aboriginal tourism businesses, create jobs and celebrate culture across WA.

Building on the success of the success of the 2021–2025 Jina Plan, which helped grow the number of Aboriginal tourism businesses in WA from 110 in 2019 to around 150 today, this new Jina Plan will help more visitors connect with authentic Aboriginal tourism experiences and the stories of Country throughout Western Australia.

Western Australia is set to gain another non-stop international flight, with Air New Zealand launching a new seasonal service between Christchurch and Perth.

Operating three times per week between 30 November 2026 and 7 May 2027, the seasonal service will provide thousands of additional inbound seats into Western Australia, strengthening the state’s aviation network.

In 2025, Western Australia welcomed 77,000 visitors from New Zealand – with one in three visiting family and friends. This new route will enhance WA's ties with New Zealand, and make it easier than ever for visitors to travel west.

The iconic Ord Valley Muster kicks off today, celebrating 25 years.

Running from 15–24 May 2026, the program features festival favourites, alongside new experiences. The event is part of Tourism WA’s year‑round events calendar, supporting regional visitation during the dry season.

Attendance at the event was supported with discounted flights available through the Affordable Airfares Program, with flights to Kununurra available from Perth and Broome with Airnorth and Virgin Australia.
