It’s National Reconciliation Week! 🌏✨

From 27 May to 3 June, we reflect on our shared history and the ongoing journey of reconciliation.

This year’s theme, All In, highlights that reconciliation is a collective responsibility. It calls on everyone to take part in building respectful relationships and working toward a more just and inclusive future.

National Reconciliation Week is anchored by two important milestones:

- The 1967 Referendum (27 May), recognising Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in the Census.
- The Mabo Decision (3 June), which recognised native title and overturned terra nullius.

The Gumala Trust stands with community in recognising this history and supporting ongoing efforts toward meaningful reconciliation. 🖤💛❤️

Today, on National Sorry Day, the Gumala Trust acknowledges the Stolen Generations and the enduring impact of the forced removal of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children from their families, communities and Country.

This day provides an important opportunity to reflect on the findings of the Bringing Them Home report, the national response that followed, and the continued significance of truth‑telling in Australia’s reconciliation journey.

As National Reconciliation Week begins tomorrow, we are reminded that acknowledgement, understanding and shared responsibility are essential to strengthening relationships between First Nations peoples and the broader Australian community.

The Gumala Trust stands alongside our communities in recognising this history and supporting ongoing efforts toward meaningful reconciliation. 🖤💛❤️
