To the parents of all my trick or treaters from Friday:

Please give yourselves a well-deserved pat on the back and praise your kids for acting the way that I’m sure you hope they would even when you aren’t there. I gave out over 500 treat bags and over 1000 toothbrushes. So many kiddos said “Thank you,” they were patient while waiting for their turn, they were great explaining food allergies so I could give them the appropriate treats, and some even spoke up for their mates to make sure I knew the friend had allergies. They were thankful for the toothbrushes, floss and toothpaste and many even asked for some for their parents and siblings. There were very few grabby hands, even from the littlest ones. Kids that came back a second time to bring a friend or sibling to my house were honest and told me they already got treats from me when I offered them a goody bag.

**The proudest moments were when there were special needs children at my table. The kids that were here at the same time were so patient, immediately recognising the situation, allowing me to give extra time and attention to those kids whose parents bring them to me specifically knowing that I make sure my festivities are super inclusive especially for kids with special needs, they stepped back to give those kids room, quieted their voices so not to take away from the experience of these beautiful children, really allowing for them to experience Halloween just like every other child.

And if you are the parent or carer for one of these kids, I cannot thank you enough for trusting me to give your kids the Halloween experience that they deserve.

I already can’t wait for next year!

Now that book week and Halloween are behind us, what are your plans for all the costumes? Instead of chucking them into a closet taking up precious space or never to be seen again, consider dropping them into the donation basket at 14 Turner Close in Duncraig for more kids to enjoy for years to come, and let me worry about storage space.
Adult costumes and clothes hangers are always needed and welcome too!

Do you have your costumes yet? Don’t wait for the last minute!! Halloween is just 6 weeks away!!
Halloween is on the 31st of October.
***Perth Free Costume Library will be closed and unavailable from Thursday the 11th of October to Monday the 27th of October***
We are always accepting donations of costumes and coat hangers. Donations can be dropped off to the basket at the front door of 14 Turner Close in Duncrig. (Please don’t ring the doorbell, as my husband is probably inside in a meeting.)

Hey community!!
I’m reaching out to see if anyone is doing some Spring cleaning and had old coat hangers that you don’t need anymore, we would be awfully grateful if you wanted to donate them to the Perth Free Costume Library . And since you’re clearing out some closets, we are always needing costume donations for children and adults. Donations can be left in the donation basket at 14 Turner Close in Duncraig any time.
**Appointment needed for costumes to view/ pick one out. If you’ve already picked one and I have it available, I can leave it in the donation basket for you to collect any time, no appointment necessary**

Dust off those adult costumes, folks! I've got a community in need of 80's flair, Gatsby glamour, and iconic characters. Your donations will make our day - and free up some closet real estate.

Halloween's over, and Book Week's been shelved for another year - time to ditch those costumes before they turn into dust-gathering ghosts in your closet! Consider donating them to our costume library instead. We've given out over 300 costumes this year and want to keep the magic going. Don't bin them or make some thrift store rich - we'll take them and give them away for free, no strings attached.
Drop-offs welcome anytime, no appointment needed. Viewing's by appointment only, but if you know what you're after, I'll bag it up for a convenient pickup.

If you’re taking your little ghouls and goblins out tonight, don’t forget to stop by 14 Turner Close in Duncraig to get a treat bag, and toothbrushes for the first 100 kiddos! We’ve got treat bags made up with loads of lollies and toys, and lollie-free bags for kids with dietary restrictions (or if they’ve just had enough sugar!)
Don’t forget to brush extra good tonight after all those sweet treats!

Apologies for late responses everyone. I ended up with a very bad ear infection.
I should be home sometime after lunch today if anyone wants to come look at costumes. And of course if anyone has any costume donations, I will gladly accept any and all sizes!

Since opening the free costume library for the year last Sunday, we have handed out 86 costumes to children and adults and received almost 30 costume donations! Great community effort!!
Some of the requests that are coming in numbers that I am not able to fulfil right now are:

Harry Potter
W***y Wonka
Alice in Wonderland
Wizard of Oz
70’s, 80’s, 90’s
Infant costumes
Doctor
Dragon
Dinosaur
Super hero and princess costumes are always popular and always welcome too!!

***If you have any of these or any other costumes/costume pieces laying around that you’d like to pass on to someone else, we are gladly accepting donations. Anything from newborn to adult sizes welcome.***
