We welcome and encourage open discussion on Carers WA’s social media sites and look forward to any comments, stories and experiences you want
to share. We want carers to be able to freely gain and exchange relevant carer information and support each other in a peer-to-peer environment. By accessing, viewing and/or posting any content on Carers WA social media sites or groups, you accept the following terms of use in this disclaimer and those required by the organisation. If you do not accept the terms in the Carers WA Social Media Disclaimer, you may not post any content to any Carers WA social media page or group. Carers WA reserves the right to remove any content we deem inappropriate, aggressive or in violation of the disclaimer which may result in removing or blocking users. General Disclaimer: Please be aware that once you post something online, there is the potential for thousands (or hundreds of thousands) of people to read your words, even years from now. As a result, we suggest that you exercise caution when posting information on our social media sites and that you not disclose personal identifiable information like your location, financial information, etc. That said, we do make reasonable efforts to monitor participation to ensure that members stay on topic, are courteous and avoid making offensive comments. 1) You are at least 13 years of age or are accompanied by a parent or guardian.
2) You are not to disclose personal identifiable information like your location, financial information, etc. This includes sensitive and confidential information for carer programs. You may provide this information via telephone on 1300 227 377 (Monday to Friday between 8.30am to 4.30pm) and/or [email protected]
3) Carers WA are not able to provide crisis support and will not counsel anyone directly via social media channels such as Facebook. Users seeking support are encouraged to call our Carer Gateway number on 1800 422 737 (Monday to Friday between 8.00am to 5.00pm local time) for services or carer related information.
4) You will not violate any laws and regulations.
5) You will not post content that is unlawful, disruptive, threatening, profane or abusive towards users or communities. Harassive, embarrassing, defamatory, obscene content towards other users or communities as determined by Carers WA will be removed. Impersonating any person or entity, posting any unsolicited material or unauthorised advertisements/promotional materials, any form of content that contains software viruses or sharing of confidential information will not be accepted. Any content breaching this policy will be removed, hidden or reported depending on severity.
6) We strongly discourage argumentative or negative comments to individuals on our social media channels. Content deemed offensive, aggressive, inappropriate or bullying behaviour will result in the content or user being removed/blocked without notice.
7) Carers WA reserves the right to monitor and/or remove or block your access to our social media pages or groups at any time, without notice within sole discretion.
8)You acknowledge that you assume all responsibility related to the security, privacy and confidentiality risks inherent in sending any content over the internet.
9) You grant Carers WA the right to distribute, reproduce, publish, display or create derivative work from your posted content on any Carers WA social media page or group.
10) Acknowledge that whilst we do accept private messages, Carers WA are unable to provide advice, referral information, or counselling support through our social media pages or groups. We encourage you to contact us via telephone on 1300 227 377 (Monday to Friday between 8.30am to 4.30pm) for these services. We are unable to provide this support through Facebook.
10) These terms of use may be updated at any time and which will come into effect when a user next accesses the social media pages or group. Carers WA welcome all feedback about our organisation and our work.
