Poland was pretty cold this time of year but the people were warm! We had a great time talking about what their new practice framework might look like in Poznan last week with Manna Van T Slot and Eileen Munroe as well as a bunch of other great practitioners from all over Europe.

Sitting down the beach today having some me time before a very busy month coming up. I took Rikke Ludvigsen’s new book with me. Couldn’t put it down. Such a heartwarming read about practice! ‘ A Professional’s Guide to Working with Vulnerable and Traumatised Children’ is a great resource with reflective exercises for practitioners at the end of each chapter that are perfect for supervision or group case reviews.

Partnering for Safety is growing in Rumania! Since 2020 I have been working online with a group of practitioners from the north of Rumania up in an area that used to be Transylvania. Then the lead agency HANNAH asked me to come up and train with them in person. It's easy for me as I live in Sicily for 5 months of the year so it's just a short flight. The first year I went was 2022, then 2023 and again this year! Every year the PFS framework and philosophy grows and we have more and more agencies, both NGOs and state CP agencies joining and loving what is a new way of working for them that aligns with their solution-focused and dignity-driven values for vulnerable families, kids and people.
And in 2025 we will continue to grow and we are moving into a new region of Rumania down south with another lead agency. It is a pleasure and privilege to work there. I have never laughed so much during 3 days of training before. I love the Rumanian culture and sense of humor and even though we used a translator we understood each other's sense of humor well. Thanks to everyone in the team who worked so hard to make this happen - Alice, Kati, Monika, Rodica, Emily, and Gabriella.
See you next year!

One of my favourite Partnering for Safety tools is the safety and wellbeing scale (a type of solution focused scaling question). The safety and wellbeing scale is located right in the middle of the CAP (collaborative assessment and planning) framework, as it’s a process that can really open up con...

I only come to Japan once a year and so I often forget how much I love working here, until I arrive the next time and get to experience all over again the incredible joy and love and inspiration that comes from working with these incredible child protection workers - they fill my heart! ❤️. And did I mention the incredible food - it’s always a tastebud sensation!
